successfully master Gangsta rap. Everyone else sound sounds so stale and idiotic when they try it. AOTP is fucking hilarious, clever and technically skilled. They keep the gangsta theme interesting with energetic deliveries and AMAZING production and choruses. Celph Titled is one of the most listenable emcees ever. I don't care if they don't have much variety, I hate when I hear that. I don't go to Kid Cudi for battle rap, and I don't go to Army of the Pharaohs for emo shit.

EDIT: I mean currently. Of course Biggie, Nas and the like were awesome.

if you look at them for punchlines and rhyming yes, but their sound, their delivery, their feel is the definition of gangster rap, gangster rap does not have to have amazing rhyming

Download "The Gatalog: A Collection of Chaos". It's a four cd collection of all his features and songs not on an official release I believe. It's dope. I'm listening to it now. There's 75 songs

I don't think Cosh knows what gangsta rap is, and has the simple minded understanding of it. If someone rhymes about guns and drugs, that doesn't make it gangsta rap. Joe Budden's quote on gangsta rap - "gangsta rap is an oxymoron" applies because of these misconceptions of gangsta rap by those who have no understanding of it.

The most ardent of gangsta rap fans (like myself) can't deny the name "gangsta" rap is silly, and most of the time you'll find that terminology is what really confuses people who are already quite clueless to begin with.

I agree that they're awesome. I don't agree with them being the only ones, though. Celph Titled got that Transformers-like voice, and fucking awesome flow and punchlines

Kamachi used to be in AOTP & was on their first 2 albums, then he had a falling out with them.

I don't consider SH full out gangster. Ortiz is too light hearted to take serious, even though I think he's a pretty good rapper. Royce and Crooked keep the gangster theme but it isn't their main thing, well maybe Crooked. AOTP just oozes creativity while remaining vicious and it's not hard to believe they are gangsters, most of them still live in Philly since AOTP hasn't hit it big.
