If Recovery was Eminem's comeback album.....

Instead of Relapse, would the people that dislike it now still feel the same way? Alot of people who dislike it is because Eminem dissed Relapse which he had released the year before. Imagine if he would have released Recovery in 2009, and instead would of dissed Encore. Not much people would argue with that since it was the worst album he's released. I honestly don't think people would have much to complain about, since Relapse would have never been released. Instead of people comparing which is better between Relapse and Recovery, there would be nothing to debate with Recovery because it would of been the first solo album he released in 5 years. My question is: If Recovery was Eminem's comeback album, would it have lived up to the hype it got being his 1st album in 5 years?

No. Him dissing Relapse is just one of the fans numerous complaints. More importantly they don't like the shouting delivery, punchlines, the beat and the lack of concept. So that wouldn't change much.

some time ago it was a trend here to hate relapse ,Now a lot of people love relapse

I don't think relapse is a bad album,I like it, but I like recovery much more...

But for exemple Love the way you lie made the sales increase a lot. Love the way you lie had not been possible in 2009 ,at least not with Rihanna in it,I guess noone doubts one of the reasons why she was chosen for the song was her abuse experience with Chris Brown....

But I think that it was a good thing that relapse had not been so successful as recovery because in 2009 he still was a little awkward ...and trying to find his place again .

How do people not see the purpose of this thread? I was trying to bring up the idea that Relapse was never created and Recovery had come out in 2009 instead as his comeback album. I don't think it would have been hated as much because Recovery would have been a major improvement on Encore. People didn't know what to expect with Eminem coming back after 5 years not releasing a solo album, we were just hoping he would come back with something great.

I agree, but he makes up for it on The Reunion. I agree with Em that as his comeback album, Relapse was a little disappointing, and I'm pretty sure that's what he means. Because he doesn't hate Relapse, I don't think.
