A mistake in Echo...?

I listened to HTS for the first time a few days ago (I know, I know) and I noticed there may have been a mistake when Echo was mastered. Just before Royce was about to spit the second verse, you can hear the beginning of the first verse by Em when he says ''I eat...'' and then it cuts off and switches to Royce. Was this done on purpose or just a mistake? Listen to it here.

Nah. he doesn't say that. It doesn't even sound like Em, it sounds more like Royce saying "ate" TBH.

IDK what that is though, might just be a part of the instrumental they added to make it transition smoother. Good ear though...

I don't hear the ''me'' at all. I can hear the ''I hear 'em calling callin callin callin I ea...'' just like the first verse but in the second one as well before Royce interrupts.

That "mistake" is intentional. It's as if Em's verse was going to repeat again because it's an echo, but then Royce interrupts it.

It's not a mistake. They hear the songs probably hundred times before putting them on the disk, so it wouldn't make sense for that part to be a mistake.

Especially considering it's done in a multi track method. They'd have heard JUST the hook when making it, they'd have definitely noticed if something shoulda been cut.

Im pretty sure what you're hearing is "me". I know that part isnt there the first time, but I really dont think its the start of Em's verse.

I wouldn't reach too far out there guys, i'm sticking with this.

While we're at it, I can't stand the mastered Echo version. Royce's verse is just supposed to be second and Em's first.
