Accent vs Shouting: Which is/was more annoying?

When all we were getting was the accent, it was pretty annoying for the sole reason that we couldn't hear his real voice.

I wish he'd bring back the accent a tiny bit. Just the one from Oh No. That one is the best.

Oh No and Buffallo Bill are two of the best examples of when the accent worked well imo.

Lol this sounds stupid but I aways get a kick out of the way he says "cut em, gut em, then just keep to stuffin those girls!"

And it makes me chuckle the way he says "Severin, legs, arms.. damn there goes another limb!" - the way he just says "damn there goes another limb" so casually in that accent, i just get an image of him like, in a hockey mask in some basement sawing away at a body with a chainsaw, blood everywhere, then from out of nowhere a limb goes flying and he's just like "oh damn there goes another limb!".

Buffalo Bill, Same Song and Dance, Oh No are awesome. No other word can describe these songs. Stay Wide Awake too but i never really cared for it, just.. I prefer the 3 songs above.

But I dont mind the shouting.. Especially if it' well executed; Above The Law, I need a doctor, Almost Famous, Cold Wind Blows..

He's got a point.

Em has shouted from MMLP onwards sporadically. It's just bitching that has now 'highlighted' this and turned it into an issue. Nobody mentioned shouting when Recovery came out, it was after some of the leaks came out that people looked back and started picking up on it.

Actually, alot of people complained about how often the shouting delivery was used on Revovery. Though, it's not as bad as his shitty post-Recovery voice.

The voice aint that different.

Look, its not about it sounding different. It's when, why and how he used it. He used to shout sparingly - just a couple of tracks per album - and it was almost always when he was genuinelly angry or very passionate about something. This is why it worked on songs like The Way I Am, Till I Collapse, Girls etc; they were very angry/emotional songs and we knew that whenever Em employed this voice that he was doing it for good reason. Again, it worked when he came back with it in early 2010 with the likes of "Despicable" because it signalled an intent to just spaz out, go raw and kill the competition... it sounded new and fresh. But now... he is just using it for no apparent reason, and every verse he does is just filled with pointless shouting and bad punchlines. And when he is doing that in practically every song it has gotten to the stage where it is beyond annoying.
