Yeah, Eminem gets a ton of hate on other forums lol. A lot of people who hate on him are oblivious to the skill he has shown throughout his career. People seem to have an odd concept of what 'selling-out' is.

To sell-out means to compromise your values or integrity for money. You're SELLING your beliefs / pride / dignity / X for cash = selling-out.

Working with a pop star or a music artist you happen to dislike, or outside of rap does not automatically make a rapper a sell-out. Kanye has always merged and respected other genres INCLUDING pop anyway. So him working with a pop artist doesn't make him a sell-out.

Does he not always say and do as he pleases? yes, he does. So he's not selling-out. Now, if you could prove he didn't really like X artist and in fact just worked with them for the sake of cash, that would be selling-out. But I haven't seen much proof of that. He seems to like to make big music and he thinks bigger than rap, or silly bravado thinking.

So just because he's working with artists you dislike, doesn't mean he dislikes them.

And I think it's pretty clear Kanye does not do things for money. And I think it's clear Eminem doesn't either. They'd be insane to put the amount of effort and work they put into what they do, if they were sell-outs. As they could do a lot less, a lot easier, for a lot more.

Quite clearly they're focused on and care about the art. More than anything else. I don't think Eminem sold-out either. I think he felt he alienated fans and wanted to connect with more people and not look like a has-been, but I don't believe he did any of it for money, or compromised anything major. And I don't think he'd put music out he disliked.

Plus Eminem is a brand new guy since he's sober. You should know it, the new Eminem is nothing like the old Em. If Em needed Rihanna to bring back the spotlights on him, he succeded. Now he's the most famous (and almost the most hated) mainstream hip hop artist. Whatever he'll put out, people will bitch about it. (The funny prank with vodka/water, some were bitching on SL) while it was really cool.

The EP is hated when it's better than WTT. (Don't be in denial.)

Everything he will put out, people will say "Relapse was weird, too childish and shitty" and Recovery "filled with shitty punchlines"

Quit crying bitch, i'm the first defending Love The way you lie and it was my favorite track when the album came out. He didn't sell out with that track, he obviously did it for the controversy and for the realness of the track.
