Just a few minutes until kick off. Football's finally back, love it. I really hope Torres nets one today to shut up the hate. They'd still probably find a reason to discredit him, oh well, come on son! :b:

You obviously haven't been watching the match. Torres has played very well and got stuck in. He looks like his old self, it's good to see Villas get the best out of him. He was also rewarded man of the match. :y:

How is he shit? He's one of the best strikers in the world. Fair enough he played poor last season but he had to gel. Now he has had time to do so, it's shown. Again, he's playing MUCH better than last season. We'll see how he performs in the upcoming games.

FreeDoom wrote:Was happy with Torres in the respect that he seemed confident and wanting to prove a point. Bit disappointed with the result but that is how it goes sometimes. I think AVB should take a gamble and start both Torres & Drogba for the WBA game next week and maybe even Norwich the week after. Was happy with the news we are looking for a midfielder and a winger though. Should give us what we need to make a serious push again.

Pretty much this. It was so frustrating seeing all the possession and chances we had in the last 15 minutes amount to nothing. Like you said, the bright side is Torres seems like his old self again which is fantastic. I really enjoyed watching him play today, he made some fantastic runs and had a few chances. That will shut up the haters.

I hope he starts again for the next match, I can see him really coming to life if he continues the form he was on today.

About him not scoring? Big deal, he played well. That's what matters at the end of the day. You'd have a point if he didn't score and played utter rubbish. Instead, he won the man of the match award.

Fair play, I didn't watch the game. It's good news for Chelsea if he's looking more lively. The biggest issue I could see last year was that his legs had gone and he'd lost a yard of pace. His confidence will come back but you don't get pace back.

Oh, and De Gea is fucking SHITE.

hahaha

His pace looks fine.

I haven't seen much of De Gea bar the Community Shield but he doesn't look all that.

United keeps making the wrong decisions it gets more and more frustrating! Rio Ferdinand is slow and perpetually injured, why not play Smalling with Vidic? Anderson is looking more and more lost and confused in the games... give the lad a position or (preferably) ship him out. Defensive midfield is a disaster waiting to happen. Fletcher is consistently injured, Phil Jones looks brash and Carrick has been below par for 3 years now. Only hope for the team is a fit Vidic and an on-form Nani and Rooney.

That said, good result and happy Fergie has been "forced" into the position we are in now. Just hope we'll get out of it stronger.

Menzo wrote:Barca fans, do you think Cesc will actually fit into the formation? If he can, then it's a fantastic acquisition by Barca but I mean...personally, I felt like it was pointless.

I think he's really unneccessary, considering he can't play defense like Mascherano or Busquets, and offensively, it doesn't get any better than Xavi + Iniesta. So basically they're spending 40 mill on a substitute when there are other positions that need strengthening

Man City were absolutely immense. I think they'll push Man Utd all the way. Aguero is ridiculous.

David Silva & Yaya Toure is easily the strongest central midfield partnership in the league as well.
