Jay-Z proclaimed J. Cole’s debut Cole World a “classic,” and now Eminem is praising his protégé Yelawolf’s upcoming album.

The Alabama rapper’s major label debut Radioactive is due October 25 via Ghet-O-Vision/Shady Records/DGC/Interscope, featuring the Lil Jon-assisted single “Hard White (Up in the Club)” produced by Hydrox.

“We are very eager for the world to hear Radioactive and proud to be presenting the album on Shady Records,” said Eminem. “Yelawolf is a true original and he has crafted an incredible record.”

The album boasts production from Diplo, The Audibles, SupahotBeats, and J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League. “Radioactive is the fallout of my life’s inspirations, a testament to my ability to survive it all and to tell the story,” explained Yelawolf. “Sometimes I want to party, sometimes I want to fight, and sometimes I want to cry. I’m human and this album is as honest as it gets.”

Yelawolf previously released Trunk Muzik 0-60, compiled of material from his Trunk Muzik mixtape along with previously unavailable tracks.

Apparently, this is all from a press release, so I guess it's true.

Yela > J Cole btw

Good Lord! how?

Yela needs to be more diverse with his flow. Not 100 mph in every song.

I'm betting Em didn't write or say that himself, just approved it.

Of course Em's gonna say it's good. He's not just gonna come out and say it's shit.

Not a big fan of Yela at all. But, I guess I can peep this when it comes out.

I can't wait, I really think Yela has probably made a classic. I think he's a rarity and one of the TRUE hip hop artists, that we'll look back on and remember his music with nostalgia.

I started to take him really seriously when I saw an interview about his favourite albums, and just hearing the albums he mentioned and his passion for it all. You can just tell he takes it as seriously as it gets and wants to make legendary stuff.

Success isn't necessarily indicative of a classic. I'm not saying that you were saying otherwise, but I thought I would throw that out there.

babyjane wrote:I'm betting Em didn't write or say that himself, just approved it.

He may have said it, but it was definitely a pre-written statement. Em is a master of language, but he doesn't talk with that much attention to his words in conversation. I do think that the statement is an accurate depiction of how he feels though.

I definitely can, as he has rock appeal.

Another reason for Eminem's major international success which is barely mentioned, is his rock appeal. His attitude and sound have always appealed to rock fans as well.

And Yela is definitely bringing that with him, even more-so as he's bringing in a lot of influence from all sorts of genres which I think he'll incorporate and mash-up throughout his career. He's also got country appeal, and he can write huge hooks.

Add all that up, plus a co-sign from Em and signing to Shady? I think he'll be huge.

I thought it was out Sept 27?

Yela has let me down on the features though. Even if they're all good, fucking ELEVEN!!? come, ON!. Sick to fucking death of features. Why can't rappers learn to make SOLO albums.

That's only the amount of feature tracks too, more actual people. Takes the piss.

There's no tracklist out, unless I missed it.

Yelawolf sucks.

Jk.

Could be decent. If Royce, and Em is on this, and there's decent production, could be not bad. I wish more acclaimed producers were on this, esp. from Em's corner- Dre, Alchemist, etc. but at least he got Justice League: they're nice.
