Hmm, I think you should be able to continue the download on firefox. Just go to firefox -> tools -> downloads and if the shows there you should be able to continue it.

Firefox is actually great for downloading with shitty net, because you can pause the download on the download bar whenever the net comes up & then have it continue once the net is back. Just make sure you don't try resuming it while the internet is still down otherwise it will fuck up & you'll lose all the percentage you already had finished.
