If we get Modric also, I can see us really pushing for the league and beyond.

Fuck this shit

We really need 3-4 new players!
And Nasri need to sign a new contract!
I wanted an album so rugged nobody could touch it.
Spent a million a track and went over my budget.
Now how in the fuck am I supposed to get out of debt?
I can't rap anymore, I just murdered the alphabet.

Mata and Modric, imagine that! :flutter: I really hope we do capture the signing of at least one of them.

Yesterday was fucking brilliant. Definitely feeling the celebrations today haha. We didn't even play that well, but it was a tough game to get any sort of football played. Second half we played decently enough.

Tiote was awful for some reason. Hoping he's just finding his feet after a lack of pre season for him. Cabaye looked good. Defence was solid (Colo = Jesus) and Shola did well up top. Was actaully a smart move by Pardew, as it turned out.

The Fulham game next week will be interesting (after the Carling Cup bollocks). First game were we can see how we are as a footballing side, as we should be looking to control that - chance for Cabaye to come into his own, I reckon. Praying we have a left back/striker in by then. Not holding my breath, though.

WBA looked unlucky yesterday, although MOTD highlights aren't usually the best example of how a game went. I can't see it being anything but a two horse race for the title, to be honest (two Manchester clubs), even this early.

You really can't count Chelsea out of the title race. We're a stronger team than City. I believe that will become apparent in the latter parts of the season. Not to mention if we do get the additions of Mata (which looks like it's basically a done deal) and Modric (I'm still hoping). They will add much more to our midfield and give us the depth we really need. You really fancy City's chasing against that sort of Chelsea team? Don't get me wrong, we're not looking amazing right now but give it time and I think we'll start playing much better.

Let's see how City perform against Utd and Chelsea in the league. They're not going to win the title this year, nor will they accelerate past Chelsea. That's how I see it, anyway.

I'd disagree you're a stronger team than City. Possibly, in your centre backs but that's as far as I'd go with it, especially with a lack of coherence in your striker department.

I see it as almost a year of stability for Chelsea. Maybe win a cup and a decent Champions League run, then properly rebuild next summer under AVB for a serious 2012/13 season. I think Man United are going to comfortably win it, with Man City chasing until around April.

But what the fuck do I know?

I agree with your Chelsea prediction, I don't really see us winning much. I do think we'll have a good go at the title though, there's no doubting that.

He's a class player. I've always liked him, did you see the goal he scored pre-season? Fair enough it was against Wycombe but it was fucking class. How about this, we sign both Modric and Mata. What do you think they would do for the team? Mata's pretty much done anyway, I'd love Modric to sign. Always been a fan of him.

FreeDoom wrote:I think it would strengthen us well and give some decent options, Hopefully Modric would fit in well and quick though Mata may take longer. A bit of luck is required, The whole Modric thing im unsure on if it will happen though. Don't get why we don't try to go for Nasri, Is a cheaper and more likely solution. We wouldn't be held to ransom as much as he only has one more year left on his contract.

I agree, if we do get Modric, it'd be a pricey sum. Especially how Levy is adamant he is going nowhere. We'll see what happens though. I'm looking forward to deadline day, I'm usually hooked on Sky Sports News and the internet then lol. Remember the Robinho saga on deadline day a few years back? Ah, I was pissed. Especially how the dude asked to leave for Chelsea lmao.

On a side note, I'm surprised by how many Chelsea fans we have on this board. It's good to see. :y:

We don't know what goes behind the scenes, but he wanted to leave before the 07/08 summer already, which is why he was pulling glum faces in his last season in Tottehnam.

Also Levy didn't wanted to let him go, thats why he was mad. But yes you're maybe right, he acted a lill bit unprofessional, but i think he just wanted to play in United so badly.

About Rossi, i still don't understand why do Barca need him? Up front they have, Villa, Messi, Pedro, Bojan and sometimes Iniesta, Jeffren and Afellay..
