He could have any beat he wants in the world. Yet he continues to pick shitty beats like Roman's Revenge or extremely boring/generic/poppy/girl beats like Lighters. He could have boom-bap production from Apathy. He could have eccentric beats from Celph Titled, funky soul beats from Kanye, Old-School from Premo, sick hardcore from an unknown dude or G-Funk beats from Dre. Think of all the songs we're missing out on because he decides to cater to the 13 year old girls who like him. He could have any singer for a hook or even write his own again yet he makes song with Bruno Mars and who knows maybe Justin Bieber next. He's almost 40 and time is slipping away for him as a rapper. He should focus on making actually good songs instead of focusing on sales and staying relevant. Here's a thought: Stay relevant to the people who matter in terms of judging rap. Those people are us: the underground fans, the fans who know more than three rappers and the fans who don't drake is "dizope, dood". And fuck product placement in a video, that's inexcusable. Old Em would make fun of that type of shit and now he turned into the joke. Don't get me wrong he can still make good songs when he wants to (Welcome 2 Hell, Fast Lane, Going Through Changes, Underground, Deja Vu), but this shit pisses me off.

Word. My liking of Eminem is at an all-time low right now. Especially after the Lighters video


It's strange because I've been a hardcore Eminem fan for well over a decade now, and to see all of the product placement and shit now. And these shitty beats and everything else... It feels like I'm losing a friend

I think his next album will go back to TES style or something, I mean I'm sure the guy knows by NOW fans want that. He has a lot of paths to take.

Life has given him so much material over the past year and a half, I don't see how he won't spin it into a TES-esque album. I'll call it right now and say his next will be absolutely phenomenal without having to reach to say so.
