It's about the Royce beef and the little Mis-understanding that he and Proof had when Eminem blew up .

I've always thought Em's verse was about Kim because of the Bonnie and Clyde line. And the chorus is just general, not directed at anybody in particular; since Em, Proof and Porter were all talking about different people in their verses, it wouldn't make sense to have the chorus directed at only one of those people or at a completely different person. The chorus is supposed to sum up the song.

I've also heard people throw around the idea that Em could be talking about Royce, but that's impossible because Em didn't meet Royce until years after Ronnie died.

Well maybe their individual verses detail different stories.

OK, Em was talking about Proof, Porter was talking about Em, and Proof was talking about Em and some of his friends. Its not that hard to understand.

This. Proof is talking about people that stopped showing him love for no reason, I think Em is talking about Proof, and Denaun about Kim.

I know this. And Porter was talking about Em & Kim to be specific.

Yeah. It's quite obvious that Kim is one of the subjects discussed in the song. I mean, if it wasn't enough, they clearly depict her in the music video aswell.

The whole song isn't about her though, but there is a verse about her.

I always thought it was weird that it was apparently about proof/d12 when they're in the song with him, but even the video confirms it when eminem is getting pushed around like a bitch.

but being proof makes more sense with the whole "you ran the streets, I 9-5'd it" because he said in a book about proof being the 'bigger' one, or however the fuck you phrase it.

How Come is the second single off the album D12 World. The song is written about the strain between the members of D12. This song is them airing out shit they got past. Eminem is manly talking about Proof but there are lines that could apply to Kon Artis. People have said he is talking to Royce but that is not true because Eminem did not know Royce in 1991 when Ronnie died. The song was eventually certified gold

Well, it seems obvious that the verses aren't all directed at one person.

As far as who the individual verses are directed at, Em's verse seems to be talking about Proof. That's not to say that he and Proof were "beefing" at the time of the song, it's worth noting that there was some sort of tension between members of the group in the years of this album and after.

Proof is more direct about the tension on his solo album and EP. He mentions it on Kurt Kobain he alludes to the fact that there is some sort of distance between him and Em. As far as him and Denaun go, he kind of goes at him on Love Letters, basically saying that he's gotten too big-headed. On Kurt Kobain, the last words before the gunshot are "Denaun, I'm proud of you".

He simultaneously shows frustration and love for his fellow members. I'm sure that some of them felt the same way about him. He would show up late to interviews, drunk, and he probably wasn't always the easiest person to deal with.

It's hard to tell though, honestly. I don't think any of the verses are a true and direct war of words with anyone.

Yeah, on his album he seemed frustrated at a lot of things - the change of life since Em blew up and people he knew not getting out as well, as well as his belief of not getting the props he deserved for what he did for Detroit hip-hop. Slum Elementz has a few confrontational lines:

But ask 'em all now where the fuck what they'd be without me

In the "8 Mile" flick I was portrayed as Future/On the set I was due, where's the rest of my crew

The album is fascinating though - the way it's put together with that opening skit and then ended with Kurt Kobain is really well crafted. Really underrated LP.
