Houston authorities have revealed that they have few clues and no motives or suspects behind the recent killing of local rapper Big Hawk.
As SOHH previously reported, Big Hawk (born John Edward Hawkins) was shot and killed near a friend's home in south Houston late Monday night (May 1). According to reports, Hawk had gone to the aforementioned friend's house to play dominos but when he got there; his friend wasn't home. Hawk then went to the side of the house, where he was shot multiple times and succumbed to his wounds.
Authorities believe Hawk was shot by more than one person.
"This is an incident where you've got a victim shot multiple times, possibly by more than one suspect," John Cannon, Houston Police spokesman, told the Houston Chronicle. "We have no indication that it was a robbery. His vehicle was still at the scene. The only thing we have to go on is a witness who saw a small, white compact vehicle leaving the area right after the shooting."
Hundreds of mourners, including Slim Thug, paid respect to late rapper Big Hawk during a memorial service in Houston's Mabry Memorial Mortuary last night (May 8).
During the two-hour service, ministers spoke out against black on black violence while local rappers struggled to grasp Hawk's loss.
"It's a terrible loss to the whole Hip-Hop community of Houston," Slim Thug told the Houston Chronicle.
