That was the song with Nicki :coffee:
I wanted an album so rugged nobody could touch it.
Spent a million a track and went over my budget.
Now how in the fuck am I supposed to get out of debt?
I can't rap anymore, I just murdered the alphabet.

Yes I KNOW I'm bumping a 4 month old thread but I've also been thinking of this lately. I'm currently listening to Relapse right now and it really is amazing how Dr Dre's bombastic beats fits the theme of the whole album. Although I sometimes I think Dre gets credit for things that he shouldn't......I have to give him credit where its due. He did an EXCELLENT job with that album.

Anyway back to Premo I was also thinking that he and Em should make a whole album like you were. Premo did say in an interview either earlier this year or the end of last year that when he was with Em at the 2009 Bet cypher they had a long conversation about working together. And Em was acting manic/hyper about working with him LOL:

"It was really a point of jumping the gun on locking down everything with Eminem at the time to where it never materialized to where I jumped the gun on the interview. I wasn't supposed to let it out the bag yet that I was working with him and for me to protect the people I was involved with to do the song with Eminem, I didn't really want to put their name on blast so I just pretty much said, 'Hey, I spoke a little too soon' and I apologized to Eminem when we did the ciphers last year and he said, 'You don't gotta apologize. I still want those beats from you!' I remember he just started jumping up and down like a little kid. 'Send. The. Beats. Send. The. Beats.' Jumping up and down to that type of a rhythm. Once we got to talking and knowing each other and being cool, then he showed his silly side and I told him, 'I'm going to send you something' for the next project he does. I'm going to definitely send him some tracks"

Definately sounds like Em is serious about working with Primo. So what do you personally think the concept should be for this album between them?(if Em commits to Primo being the only producer).

Sorry again for bumping this but this is just an interesting topic and it really is intriguing to me what an ENTIRE ALBUM by them would sound like. I hope if its successful.....that we don't have idiots accusing Em of copying Nas again.

Hmm....I wonder what the cover will look like? Hope the asthetics is as good as Relapse

I think Roman's Revenge was one of his beats.

I'm also quite surprised Em and DJ Premier haven't done any songs together before now, considering they're two of the biggest names in mainstream hip hop (same goes for Em and Timbaland). DJ Premier has even done loads of songs with the likes of Christina Aguilera, so I'm sure he would've always been open to working with Em if he was approached.

Premo has a thing with (most) rappers where it's like a rule that the beat absolutely gets torn into pieces. Like it ALWAYS has to be lyrically battered by the rapper. Look at AZ's "The Format", Nas' "Nas is like", Ras Kass' "Goldyn Chyld", The Lox's "Recognize", FAT JOE's (yes, Fat Joe) "Thank God for that white", Limp Bizkit's "N 2 Gether now"..had Meth on there, Royce's "Boom" obviously, Xzibit's "What a mess", Ludacris' "MVP" and a lot more tracks I left out.

So basically Em on a Premo beat is the ultimate Stan's dream. I'd also love to hear Em on a Trackmasters or Cool & Dre beat. :worship:
"So one last time, I'm back, 'fore it fades into black and it's all over, behold the final chapter in the saga, trying to recapture that lightning trapped in a bottle twice, the magic that started it all...tragic portrait of an artist tortured....trapped in his own drawings..." - Bruce.
