Tech N9ne is my favourite rapper... but I agree that he wasn't at his best on the cypher, when he started like the first 8 lines I almost shit my pants... but then he softed it and ended it really meh..

Yup. I already re-listened, thanks, and I don't think he was great.

Em had some good lines especially the last rhyme scheme. Better flows from the others though. I thought Yelawolf and Crooked I killed it. Especially Yela tbh, he is dope.

So, who all are with me and think Eminem absolutely ripped this cypher?

He's gotta go back to his roots with a few new dudes like Premier and some Khalil/Havoc.

Nah he should never go back to his roots. He should always evolve.

I think he needs to think of big concepts and go all out, be innovative and extreme.

I also think he needs to stick to one-three similar, dark producers who fit his style(s) next time too and I think he should exec produce it and have his fingerprints on every beat, to tie it all together.

I can definitely see an evolution in what he did tonight, he sounded more sinister, there was a kind of dark confidence to his rapping that didn't feel as fabricated or theatrical, it got under the skin a bit more. I think he needs to get off of the idea of shocking for shock's sake, and not even think in that realm at all, it's fine to shock, but it shouldn't be the aim itself now.

Personally I'd love to hear dark, menacing beats, partially produced by him, around 15 tracks, no skits, choc-full of concepts, rap hooks, experimentation and new extremes (lyrically and flow-wise).

I wasn't referring to content or style wise, more so the people he worked with - Dre, Bass Bros and himself.

I don't think he should do that either. I think every element should always evolve.

Definitely don't think he should work with Dre again. Don't you think he's done ENOUGH work with Dre now. Dre has worked on every single album bar Recovery.

Bass Bros can always be inventive and... I do think he should work with them again, as with them, he comes up with original melodies, so that could still be different. I'd like to hear him work seriously with Premo. But I think he should work fully on an album with a producer like Havoc.

Enough of the old, and enough of the shitty new pop-rap producers too (Alex Da Kid).

TBH it sounds like hes in the middle of trying to find a new style, it doesnt sound like hes aced this new style yet, if you notice there are a couple moments where he sounds a bit awkward..

still sounds good though, if this is his new style he probably wants more time to perfect it, which is why his next solo album probably wont come for awhile.

thats assuming hes gonna use this style though, if he chooses this new style for his next album he has work to do.

i somewhat agree, he should still work with Dre every once in awhile, when they get something good going it sounds amazing.

personally i think he should start doing more dark songs, make stuff with that feeling, know what i mean? like dont try and make it sound dark, let it come naturally

No, I don't think that sacrifices his evolution as an artist if he works with Dre. That's why I ORIGINALLY said with a few new cats like Khalil and Havoc - Premier as well and obviously Porter.

C'mon EmBase...

i think i know what he means, hes been with Dre ever since day 1, except Recovery, but if he goes back to working with Dre people will say hes not evolving, but if he dies move on, he'll learn more shit, thus getting better...

but people will say hes not staying true to his roots, or whatever.

either way its shit but the better solution is to keep going the way hes going, trying out new flows, producers, etc.

not saying he shouldnt work with Dre at all, still do songs and what not with him.
