Probably.

It's a weird position, after 11 years of the same style of beat and rhythms, I can't blame him for trying newer things.

word.

he could still make some great songs with Dre though, if he tried, and if Dre tried (Em pushing him)

Dropping in to give my opinion.

I think all of them killed it, but Eminem's verse was SO different that I ended up loving it the most. Crooked fucking destroyed that shit with multis, but Eminem came at it in a Slim Shady-esque way. The rapping style was like The Reunion (I REALLY hope he raps like this for his next album) but the lyrics were totally Slim Shady. I can see and hear it.

If Em does make another album (which I think he will) then he should rap like this and keep the content pretty similar...these references and jokes honestly do remind me of SSLP somewhat. It's riddled with punchlines but they are much better than they have been.

Honestly excited to hear what Em comes up with...I think we'll know for sure the style we're getting when we hear his Yelawolf and Young Jeezy collaborations...if he comes at those songs like he did the Cypher then that's a great sign.

Mini-essay over. Enjoy, everyone. :y:

Just woke up to this :D

Amazing man, Everyone had their own unique feel on the Cypher so i cant really judge who was best :y:

But i enjoyed Em the most cause i was dying to hear new stuff from him, and thats exactly what we did hear, new everything... ANDD he was even funny this time, which has been a missing factor in im in a long time :8)

Definitely don't think he should work with Dre again. Don't you think he's done ENOUGH work with Dre now. Dre has worked on every single album bar Recovery.

Bass Bros can always be inventive and... I do think he should work with them again, as with them, he comes up with original melodies, so that could still be different. I'd like to hear him work seriously with Premo. But I think he should work fully on an album with a producer like Havoc.

Enough of the old, and enough of the shitty new pop-rap producers too (Alex Da Kid).

No, I don't think that sacrifices his evolution as an artist if he works with Dre. That's why I ORIGINALLY said with a few new cats like Khalil and Havoc - Premier as well and obviously Porter.

C'mon EmBase...

I didn't say working with Dre sacrifices his evolution as an artist, so stop twisting my words.

I said I think every element should evolve. And personally, I've heard enough of Eminem and Dr. Dre, with Dre as the producer. Aside from Relapse, Em always produces very similar content with Dre, it puts him in a redundant mindset. I don't want any more Dre beats.

I'd much rather hear Em over new Havoc beats, something new.

Meh verse by Em imo...
You can't disagree with me there..

Then again, it was a live performance, maybe it needed better execution.

Best part of Em's verse was the Canibus-style piss take at the begininng, actaully thought he was being serious for about half a second.

As for the rest, it was pretty average. The little bit near the start with the 'wiji board/Beastie Boys' scheme was pretty nice but kind of went downhill from there. Didn't really like his flow or any of the stupid puns. His confidence seems to be sky high though, which is nice to see.

The others? Budden was probably had the best verse. Royce was okay. Ortiz bored me and Crooked went for the generic multie approach like he normally does. Yelawolf was shit.

I don't see the fuss about him. His verse was forgettable imo.

I liked Em's verse, he was solid throughout with some very nice rhyming in parts. I also liked Crooked and Budden's verse. Just makes me more eager to hear the new Slaughterhouse drop.

Good cypher.

Yela is sick. His flow is amazing at times...I'm becoming a big fan. He is perfect for Shady too. Cannot wait for Yela Feat. Em.

Cypher was alright, I expected better though. I thought Em's flow was a bit awkward at points.

I was expecting far less than anybody else was to be honest, and now I'm suitably impressed.

I'll be more detailed about my opinion when I watch it again.

Joe budden just sounded so professional with his verse, everything he said was just so relaxed and appealing.

Royce was straight witty and i think he had a great flow, and hilarious as fuck especially when he said that rihanna told him that she liked his music.

Joell had a very powerful punchlines which could be a real wayne jab, with that booty clap shit, his delivery is very entertaining also.

Crooked I is just fire, how he makes the multies decide his flow is awesome, real lyrical.

hadnt made out anything bout yela's verse.
