This, I don't believe, is entirely true.

It's true within reason but... we all have unfair starts by default. In every sense.

We're all born with different brains, into different families, we experience different things (which shape our minds, our views, our opinions), we meet different people and adhere to different peers, we all have different genetic limitations and boundaries.

So, even if I dedicated my life to beating Usain Bolt's record - I could practice continuously and obsessively, to the absolute height of my ability, non-stop... and, I may still never, ever beat his record or come close due to the fact I may be unfortunately, on a lower peg genetically.

All sports is unfair too. We make rules to make them as fair as possible but again, some runners have unfair genetic advantages. We kid ourselves into thinking we're all the same or that we all have the same or similar potential. We're not all born equal, in any sense.
