This, I don't believe, is entirely true.
It's true within reason but... we all have unfair starts by default. In every sense.
We're all born with different brains, into different families, we experience different things (which shape our minds, our views, our opinions), we meet different people and adhere to different peers, we all have different genetic limitations and boundaries.
So, even if I dedicated my life to beating Usain Bolt's record - I could practice continuously and obsessively, to the absolute height of my ability, non-stop... and, I may still never, ever beat his record or come close due to the fact I may be unfortunately, on a lower peg genetically.
All sports is unfair too. We make rules to make them as fair as possible but again, some runners have unfair genetic advantages. We kid ourselves into thinking we're all the same or that we all have the same or similar potential. We're not all born equal, in any sense.
It depends on how intelligent people are really, like if you are a really...Like..
Had a terrible life, you just want to be good at everything, you know?
You try rapping, but no matter how much you try, you can't do any good, well that's fine, you rapped, that's one thing you did, but then you need to say to yourself, yeah, I need to find a different skill..
If you set your mind to rapping good, and still fail, that's not right..You gotta know when to throw in the towel and call it a day.
It's no big deal, we all experience different shit.
Some people are stupid and don't bother, some people couldn't give a shit less about quitting and turn out to be horrible rappers..
It's just common knowledge to me that that saying is cliche, but in many ways it's true, but in the grand scene of things, it's contradicting reality of how humans are all different and some people just can't do everything.
Example, if you have a mental disability, or can't walk.
Yeah, I saw those television stores blah blah, but you just can't sometimes..
Coming back to defend that cliche line, I believe it's true in many ways, but not as a whole, thus me saying that was really aimed at the obvious viewpoints of the discussion of Eminem rising up from the slums of suburban life and became extremely good at his work and all those other blah blah sob stories you hear everywhere..
But in the real world, a lot of people never try to do it, or don't feel the need to.
But in the extreme case of REALLY wanting to do something, anyone COULD possibly do "ANYTHING," whether they get help to do it, or just go nuts and reach out.
