Is it just me, or did it seem like SSLP felt the most drug influenced, MMLP being mixed and TES the least? Lol

Yeah, it's weird. But, apparently during the recording of the trippy white trash drug brigade of SSLP he wasn't on drugs yet.

MMLP, on the other hand, I think does sound out there. I could tell the drugs really brung out his anger, ideas, emotions, etc etc

TES sounded like Em got serious, sobered up, and had his best crack at an album though.

His most recent album, Recovery, was the best-selling album of 2010 and arguably the strongest work of his career.

Interviews are supposed to be objective, or at least pretend to be. This is just outright promotion for Recovery :tounge2:

It's ironic that he'd write "Drug Ballad" when he's sober.

Just like a sober Eminem rapping about Drugs on Relapse. :-k

I don't know what I'm talking about really, but I thought he did drugs before the SSLP days. I remember seeing an interview from then when he was talking about ecstacy I think.

He might've been taking different drugs later on, but surely the point was that he was writing/recording when high, which you can do from ecstasy or cannabis, which I'm sure he did before SSLP. But again, I don't fully know what I'm talking about here, so forgive me if what I'm saying is stupid. :D

Writing songs on drugs vs sober? Clearly he uses a lot of his imagination in songs. To me his imagination is a lot more entertaining than when he's rhyming directly about his real life.

But the rest just seem like pure ingenuity to me...with a hint of E.

Kill You was written and recorded in Amsterdam so there's a chance he was on some weed when he made that. I know he was on ecstasy when he recorded Kim.

For the other songs, I'm just not seeing it. They're all too focused. On Drug Ballad, I can't see him rhyming "right to remain violent and start wilin'" with "fight with the same guy that was smart eyein'" while he's high on marijuana.

He got that beat from Dre when he came back form European Tour in Oct 1999 and wrote it the day that he got the beat but he recorded it weeks later when he actually started recording the MMLP Album. So I doubt that he was on weed when he wrote that because he was probably at home after the Tour.

Encore was brilliant. A superb manifestation of Eminem's genius and eloquence and maturity.

...

Obviously, SSLP was HIGHLY drug influenced, people. Rock Bottom was clearly written on weed. Brain Damage sounds like an ecstasy song to me. And hey, he must have been on shrooms when he wrote and recorded "My Fault." I mean, shrooms help you craft brilliant black comedy with sick multis, after all. Intricately written songs are the #1 sign of drug use. And if he mentions a drug in the song, it means he took the drug before writing it.

Somebody's obviously not too familiar with the morons on this board who actually said shit along these lines. With every Eminem interview, they just look more and more retarded.

Well, are you mocking people who mock Eminem or are you mockin Eminem fans? Coz, this forum is full of haters, "purists", retards and a bunch of disciples to constantly deride and bash Encore and anything post 2009 bar Relapse. Bottom line, Eminem receives more hate than love from frequent posters here and even such sarcasm becomes monotonous and stale quickly.
