Your friend is right, there was a beef 'cuz DMX got offended by what EM said once in an interview. He went at EM & from there on they were going at each other subliminally for more than a year but worked it out later after EM said he likes DMX in a interview.

'Party up' is all about dissing EM all the way, check the lyrics & you'll see. As you could see the first half of 'Marshal Mathers' is all about dissing X too.
