Introduction:
(day/month/year btw below not the opposite)

7/2/2011: Lebanon 0-6 Kuwait (Friendly Game)
17/7/2011: UAE 6-2 Lebanon (Friendly Game)

now, who do we get drawn against in the third round qualifiers? KUWAIT ^^, UAE ^^ AND South Korea...

First game in the qualifiers:

2/9/2011: South Korea 6-0 Lebanon

now what is the conclusion after that? Lebanon is gonna be a walk in the park for everyone in the group

then comes this date: 6/9/2011 (4 days after S.Korea thrashed us), a confident UAE side came to Lebanon expected to pick up easy 3 points in Lebanon and go home with a big smile on their faces...

That starts off as expected as UAE gets an early goal and expected to cruise through the rest of the game, then what happens? WE SCORE 3!! and win the game 3-1 :D

Everyone said it was a fluke that will never happen again, and then, on 11/10/2011, came Kuwait to Lebanon, also full of confidence and think they will win with ease. Until Lebanon were up 2-1 almost all game long, and they got an equalizer in the 93rd minute from a lucky own goal...

What do Kuwaitis say? It's luck, a fluke, and this sort of result won't happen again, insisting they will score 4 or 5 against us when we visit Kuwait.

11/11/2011 (<-- cool date :P) comes, and Lebanese players are in Kuwait, the first 6 minutes, our 2 CBs gets injured (one of them former captain of FC Koln in Lebanon), and Hassan Maatouk (our star player), gets booked for a dive (which was a clear penalty) and will miss the south korea game, and we still went on to score a goal and keep a clean sheet

now Kuwaiti people talk about luck again, and how we will be demolished by Korea and our run of luck has come to an end.

And today comes South Korea, I'm gonna give a brief history bout Lebanon vs South Korea before I enter today's game's details:

In 2004 (2 years after Korea was 4th in the world cup, and in the qualifications for the 2006 world cup), we were in need of a win to qualify to the next round of the qualifiers and on 13th november 2004 (today is 15th november btw), Koreans came to Lebanon, and we drew 1-1.

Back to today, no one (AND I MEAN NO ONE!! NOT EVEN ME) expected Lebanon to get anything out of the game. In a stadium packed 50 000 fans, screaming our lungs out, it even rained!! we were without or 2 starting CBs (who were still injured), and without our star player unjustly booked in the previous game, and we scored the first goal in the 4th minute!! HOLY SHIT!!! MY THROAT STILL HURTS!!

The ref gave an unjust penalty to Korea and they levelled the score, but, we were not satisfied to go into half time on level terms, but we get a penalty of our own (a legit one), and we score it and went on to hold on to the lead and earn a historic win against a team we never dreamt of ever beating.

3 teams that beat us with 6 goals scored, are now suffering from us!! Lebanese football seemed dead from 2005-2010, we were everyteam's wish to face, they could put their third team and we still would've lost, but now every team has to take precautions before facing us, whether it's home or away!!

THE ATMOSPHERE WAS AMAZING!! BREATH TAKING!! Singing during the 90 mins (before the game and after it also), the president was there, every player is gonna get a 6000$ bonus now (trust me, that's alot for footballers here to get) and the country has united for the first time in a whie, Lebanese people could find a way to step aside their differences and stay behind the team all the way.

I leave you with some photos of the historic event:

This is what football is all about! Imagine if the England players actually stopped being overpaid prima donnas and fought for their country. I hate international football because of England.

1-6

For the Chelsea lads, here's an article on Torres insisting he'll get back to his best. There's no doubting that at his best, he's one of the best strikers in the world. He just needs to get there again.

I still don't understand the sheer amount of hate he receives though. It's not like he slapped the £50m figure on his head. I still don't think he did anything wrong by leaving Liverpool. He wanted to win trophies and Chelsea is a team capable of doing so.

He added: "But I am in debt to the Chelsea fans. They have always supported me.

"And I promise them the one thing I have never done and will never do in my life is give up."

And we never will stop supporting you, just find that deadly form. :b:

I've never hated Torres. When the transfer was going through, I was over the moon. I didn't let my eyes get off that transfer. I think he will get back to scoring ways. Before he got sent off at Swansea, he was starting to gain a lot of confidence even after the Utd miss.

The haters will always hate him, but the Chelsea fans will always support him. El Nino!

And yep, both Torres and Mata will be in the team. :y:

Lmao. That RVP thing is wrong anyway. I'd absolutely love to see Torres net one on Sunday. Maybe even Meireles? :worship:

Should be a good match, I'll probably watch it as Chelsea aren't on until Sunday.

What do you study at uni btw?

Looking forward to it. Shame I couldn't get tickets but that's what happens when you have a chairman who choses the lowest allocation for every single away game. We took 5,000 to Blackburn on a Wednesday night in the Carling Cup, but Ashley chooses less than 2,000 for Man City away on a Saturday at 3pm, in case we don't take up the full allocation. Beggars belief.

Anyway, it's nice to see Pardew come out and say that we're going to go for it rather than just sit back and let City pummel us - we'd lose at least 2-0 (they'd grind us down eventually_ and it would be pointless. With a solid defence and a striker on fire I don't see why we shouldn't go for it. Tiote is a huge miss but Guthrie can do a job. Want to see Santon on the RW to help Simmo out, with Benny in behind Ba.

Think the unbeaten record will go, but as long as put in a perfomance and don't get steamrollered I'll be happy. HTL.

Aye, think it could be a close encounter actually. Closer than people think. I'm studying Medicine, 1.5 years to go. Damn..it's flown by.

Ashley is such a prick! Nice that you're doing well in spite of him. Imagine if you had a decent chairman...

Manchester City reveals record £194.9m loss. If UEFA also rule against the sponsorship deal, then City could fail to meet those Fair Play regulations when they come into play.

No doubt. If we don't get all 3 points, I don't see us getting close to the title this year.
