At least on The Last Song, this dude has a natural talent for making catchy hooks. Haven't listened to some of his other tracks, but that track's hook is just downright jaw-dropping. :y:

Yeah, I'm 4 listens in and this album is fantastic. So far my favorites are:

Write Your Name (just incredible, mellow, memorable, great content)
Made in the USA (fucking anthem)
Let's Roll (inspirational, huge song with epic hook)
Animal (catchy hook, excellent beat and great flow/delivery)
Last Song (deep lyrics, haunting and amazing hook)

In short, terrific debut for Yela. And the album keeps getting better after each listen.

It sucks he hasn't gotten more publicity. I think that's gonna hurt him in sales. Hopefully I'm wrong & this album will take off.
