Yelawolf Talks "Throw It Up" & Em (Shade 45 interview) (NEW)

Postby R.A.W. » Dec 3rd, '11, 16:10

I ripped this last week on Shade 45, but haven't had have the time to upload it before now.
Shade 45 had a "Yelawolf 6Pack Special", where Yelawolf played six of his songs, "Throw It Up" was one of them, and he did a interview before they played it.

Listen Here:

Quite interesting interview, it sounds like Eminem was really uncomfortable about doing the song and had to think about it for a long time before he finally made the verse.

 "He goes off into fucking - some obscure cave in the Kaukus mountains and writes his fucking verses over a fucking single candle."

Yeah, it doesn't sound like Em wanted to jump on it at ALL because he had no idea what to do, and off what Yela said Em didn't like what he turned in. Well, as long as Yela likes it, I guess, since it's his album...

Does this mean Em didn't like his verse?
Fuck top five, bitch, I'm top four
And that includes Biggie and Pac, whore
And I got an Evil Twin
So who the fuck do you think that third and that fourth spot's for?

I assume so, since it sounds like he was reluctant to jump on that track.

Now that skit really makes sense.

It's kinda bad...I mean, wouldn't you expect him to not submit something he didn't like? Or maybe he felt it's the best he could do for THAT style, then I guess that's fine. But for the amount of flack he caught for it, I don't think it was worth it.

At least the skit was there and only strengthens what Geno, JP and I were saying before.

True... but remember the past interview where Yela was adamant about having Em on THAT record and how Em wasn't too sure at first? Since we know Em isn't nearly an asshole as he portrays to be, I doubt he could just reject Yela's request. But yes, that only reinforces the fact that he KNEW it wasn't too good.

Exactly, he didn't want to disappoint Yela. He couldn't just be like "Sorry man, I don't think it's going to work." And clearly Yela's happy with the result, so apparently Em's verse was what he wanted.

Yela never said he didn't like his verse, only that he was reluctant to hop on the song.

I think Yela totally wasted Em for his debut.

I understand his little buzz of having two white rappers and a black female on a track, as a highlight of how far hip-hop has come and also just for the conflict of it...

But to get signed to Eminem, and have him on your debut... especially at this stage when he's got the hunger and urge to be creative again and is in the second run of his career... there's so much fucking potential to utilize his genius somehow.

And to just settle on a CLUB TRACK, I mean, come, on man. Craziness.

I would of come up with the most insane concept I could think of.

 at the cave shit though.

I wanted an album so rugged nobody could touch it.
Spent a million a track and went over my budget.
Now how in the fuck am I supposed to get out of debt?
I can't rap anymore, I just murdered the alphabet.
