Yeah, but what is Mr. Fossil Fuel going to rap about?

That's exactly what rockers thought when they were 25. "What are we gonna sing about at 40???"
My answers is wait the fuck up. The actual genre of hip-hop isn't old enough for you to say such dumb shit. Rap is like 35 years old, and the only reason why it's still considered a "young man's game" is because the 80s rappers refused to stay relevant. They stopped making music.
Jay, Em, Nas ain't giving up anytime soon so all of you continue with this 1,2 or 3 albums shit, but I'm thinking more like 7,8,9.

Are you suggesting Em will bring out 7 more albums, or Jay, Em and Nas accumulated?

I don't think Em will give up anytime soon, but more than 2 albums is speculative.

:y: This exactly. Hip-Hop is young and we haven't seen any rapper of Eminem/Jay-Z's fame retire or step away from the game yet. What Em-Jay do now will set the trend for major rappers in the future as there's been no precedent set for the longevity of hip-hop artists, of Eminem's status. So even if Eminem continues to make music for another 10 (glorious) years, it isn't something weird or awkward. I think that it is of prime importance, for the genre & for his fans, that Em continues to make music for as long as possible.

Besides The Grammys still owe Em his Album of the Year award(s).

Enough said.

the generations differences become more sharper, rappers that started their careers with a 5-year-difference are :facepalm >< :facepalm
5-7 years more and youll be sick of new "rappers" like a 40-year parent of Em in 2002 :coffee:
so nah :shakehead:

2 new ones till 2017, 2 official "greates hits" in the next 5 years, and then 3 "unreleased" (with really unheard songs) in like 15-20 years.
my bet it is :smoking:
Ted Bundy did it, John Gasey did it, Jeffery Dahmer did it, Jim Baker did it, Jimmy Swaggart did it, Lil Rick did it... And why me can't do it? :confusion:

He will release two more at the least. You know how he always does his albums in pairs? Slim Shady-Marhsall Mathers LPs/Eminem Show-Encore/Relapse-Recovery. He will do one more set of those at least, and MAYBE one final LP

One more is a 100% lock. If it was his final album, it would be marketed as that way. Be real people. The biggest musican of our generation and one of the biggest of all-time is not going to end on Recovery.

2 albums is also still very likely.

3 there is a decent chance as well.

I can't see him doing more then 3 since that is easily 6+ years right there.

not reading anyone elses post, i say 1.

I think after (if it happens I know) a d12 album, and the success of recovery/BME he will be into his 40's. and i think he knows he can only rap till a certain age no matter how great he is...so I say 1 more, one that he hopefully puts into everything he has and addresses the issues he should as a last album

Either way, all i hope is that he makes one album (or even song I guess) where he officially ends it. I dont want, for example, him to not do another solo album after recovery. I want something to be known beforehand is his "finale"...again, whether a song or album.

I think one, two max.

I know he's said he'll keep rapping whilst he has the heart and he's made it sound like he'll keep going until he's 50 but, I can't see it. Hope I'm wrong.

I think one more D12 album, then one or two more Em albums.

Then he'll probably focus fully on producing / developing new artists again.

That is how I see it aswell. I think he will do two or three more studio solo albums and one more D12 album. I would like to think he will continue to go strong and continue to release albums but for some reason I don't feel as though that will happen. I am sure, like you I've stated, he will focus on expanding his label and producing which I wouldn't mind. It's just weird to think that one day whether it be now or years from now we may not get anymore music from Marshall.

I can only see one. He is not gonna put out anything in 2012, because he would be too busy working with Slaughterhouse and doing tours. 2013 maybe one album, after he turns 40 i dont think he would be eager to put out solo albums.

He should do more movies.
