Yelawolf is one of the greatest alive. :flutter:

It surprises me how once everyone was dickriding underground rappers and bashing Wayne and Drake and now it all changed.

Drake is a good artist, but a below average/decent rapper.

Hopsin will sell more than 20 000 with Knock Madness.

???? Man, maybe MCs have stepped their technical skills up but the Hip-Hop of the '90s was much, much better. 48 of the top 50 MCs have started/been active in the the '90s, and the quality was way higher. 80% of the shit that dropped was dope, while now it's the other way around. And as you said they paved the way for the current MCs, and if judge skills for the time being, they were all much better. It's also too early to judge longevity of these new guys, and that's very important.

also there was something more authentic sounding/feeling about the older guys..

keep in mind late 80's crack epidemic.. early 90's gangs... u get stuff like wu-tang and Tupac..

watch old videos shieet is so reall.. plus it was brand new at the time.. and audio/video production wasn't perfect

Rap really didn't break into mainstream until 98. with p.diddy and jay-z..

smaller labels were owned and managed by the rappers themselves.. they didn't have a bunch of A&R PR snobs in the studio with them...

and most of all %90 of rap wasn't all about the MONEY!!!
baby bop, poptarts, sweethearts, retards.. shady like a palm tree..

Lol.

Why are you busting your hating nut in all of my threads?

2Pac is just straight up overrated, if he were alive today, he would have fell off hard. No way he could keep up with the technical rappers of today. Okay, so he spits a few bars about how the world is so mean to black people; uh, Kanye's been spittin' the same since "Jesus Walks". Same with 50, he makes a derogatory(?) statement in "Patiently Waiting" ("In this white man's world, I'm similar to a squirrel").

2pac is more talented than people seem to give him credit for. Sure he didn't flow and rhyme like Techn9ne but he had the rare ability to tell stories that reached the hearts of millions (that's why he, unlike so many rappers that have come and go, still to this day moves units).

His delivery was always world class and to this day it is only very few I will put in the same category as him (delivery wise).

I know you don't necesarrily peak when you're old but he never seemed like a guy that was emptied for topics to touch lyrically.

I don't really consider any of his albums classics, at least not those I've listened to, but he managed to make some of my favourite songs of all time. Changes, Dear Mama, Unconditional Love and of course Brenda's got a baby (quite possible the best verse ever written).

Wow, I need to give some of his albums some serious rotation now.

EDIT: And Keep ya head up. Great song.

the problem with your arguement is that you became so desperate to prove me wrong you pulled out the race card on how he only made music for black people , did you forget what time frame he came out in ? did you realize he has inspired rappers that weren't black as well ? maybe 2Pac wouldnt have fell of because his name was bigger than him, but im sure he would've sold out because (like Biggie) in his songs he did talk about real shit then he'd brag about money and how thats what makes him happy blah blah blah ! Kanye doesnt always rhyme , Kanye says dumb shit sometimes on and off a record i respect him musically and occasionally he'll spit a dope verse but thats it . point is ! even real hip hop fans can say 2Pac is overrated but he is one of the greatest of all time (G.O.A.T.) and we should respect him for that. as for predicting his failure we'll never know because HE IS DEAD

Can't believe people still hating on 2pac. This is Crazy! I could list 20 or 30 tracks off the top of my head that are dope as hell. No way he would've fell off. 10 years after his death his music was still coming out and selling like crazy! Nobody's made more double disc albums or sold more double disc albums than 2pac. "Hit Em Up" is the greatest battle/beef/diss track ever. I don't give a f*ck what anyone thinks, 2pac was a genius. Like someone said earlier, he was a great story teller. 100% real, not fake like some of these whack artists nowadays.

"Me Against The World" = Classic
"All Eyez On Me" = Classic
"R U Still Down" = Classic
Even "Thug Life", "7 Day Theory", and "Until The End Of Time"(if they kept the original beats) are close to being classics.

1990's = 2pac :worship:
2000's = Eminem :worship:

lol no. I just said he SPIT a few bars about how the world is mean to black people, I didn't say that he ONLY makes music for black people.

And I know 2Pac is one of the G.O.A.T.'s, but he's still overrated no doubt.

Jesus Christ @ you guys arguing and making some huge paragraphs as to why your opinion is right.

This is the unpopular opinions on hip-hop thread, do you expect to walk in and see posts you agree with? :facepalm

That's like saying if someone wants to critique a movie they have to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on production, editing, and so forth and make a better movie just to justify their opinion. :coffee:

He already sold more than 2000 with raw.
