Eminem made great songs in his past, hunting for "forced" rhymes is useless and will only reduce the quality of a song based on delicate technicalities that no one gives a shit about. i mean, c'mon, do these "forced" rhymes really take anything from the song if it's dope? fuck, sometimes the different way of pronunciation that make a rhyme "forced" gives the line more awesomeness. the only "forced" rhyme that ever bothered me is "great" with "need" in old time's sake but that wasn't even critic-worthy
and the britney's garbage/sixteen dollars made it sound more badass. sometimes an artist have to go out of the ordinary to not sound predictable as fuck.
Its unnecessary in terms of most people outside an eminem forum would not give a fuck about how many rhymes don't quite match up perfectly. But other than that who decides what a 'necessary' thread is. You?
I dont think anyones saying the forced rhymes in a classic song severely brings it down, we're just bringing them to light. Whenever I write and I have forced rhymes I always sit there looking at it thinking what I can change to fix it.
Do you think when Em was wrting this he looked at skinny [Car]tman/Ricky [Mar]tin/Britney's [gar]bage/bitch re[tar]ded?/sixteen [
dol]lars
and thought to himself, "that is badass! It doesn't rhyme, no one would have expected that shit, Not predictable!"
No. I think he would of been satisfied with it not rhyming perfectly because the line is dope anyway.
