Verses better than Renegade?

Postby SoldierShady » Feb 21st, '12, 16:03

I'm talking about Em's first verse here obviously. We all know it's considered one of the greatest hip-hop verses of all time, and if you're a Stan, arguably "it's d best verse evar....bro". So give me some verses, preferrably by artists other than Em himself. :p

I'll go with Method Man's second verse from Y.O.U with Redman. Gets me boppin' my head with that bitter beer face on all the time. :worship: Starts around 3:03 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0IAWh38EO9k
"So one last time, I'm back, 'fore it fades into black and it's all over, behold the final chapter in the saga, trying to recapture that lightning trapped in a bottle twice, the magic that started it all...tragic portrait of an artist tortured....trapped in his own drawings..." - Bruce.

Fuck top five, bitch, I'm top four
And that includes Biggie and Pac, whore
And I got an Evil Twin
So who the fuck do you think that third and that fourth spot's for?

Nas' verse on Verbal Intercourse (Deja Vu) is the only one that is arguably better.

maybe the 1st or second verse from you never know by imortal technique

"Her eyes are brown and beautiful, yet empty and sad
I used to talk to her occasionally, and she was glad
That I wasn't just another nigga trying to get in it
So every now and then we'd stop and talk for a minute
I didn't have a gimmick so the minutes turned to hours
On her birthday, I gave her a poem with flowers
Then I took her out to dinner after her cousin's baby shower
We talked about, power to the people and such
We spent more time together but it was never enough
I never tried to sneak a touch, or even cop a feel
I was too interested, in keeping it real
Perfectly honest and complete, she would always call me "carino,"
And never Technique, bought me a new book to read every 2 or 3 weeks
Forever changing the expression of my thoughts when I speak
It was because of her, I even deaded all of my freaks
She convinced me, to stop hangin' out on the streets
To stop robbin' and stealin', from people like you
Instead I took her out to the Apollo and the Bronxu
We sailed in Barrio (?) and the Metropolitan too
Got to the point when I was either with her or my crew
So I decided one day, to tell her my feelings was true
I couldn't live without her so I told her, facing my fears
But honey's only response, was a face full of tears
She could only sob hysterically, holding me tight
I tried to speak, but she wouldn't stop until I left sight
I felt like a moth who got himself too close to the light
Except I didn't burn, I turned cold after that night"

or maybe the 2nd or 3rd verse from everyday struggle

But seriously, it just comes down to what you like. I can think of some RA verses that I prefer. I personally wouldn't put his renegade verse in em's top 5, even though it is an almost flawless verse.

Better, nahh son. But you can find a lot that can be considered equally great. Nas on Verbal Intercourse is one yes.
Also his verses on The World Is Yours and Memory Lane.

RA The Rugged Man's verse on Uncommon Valor was dope as well.

I don't think there is one, but his Hellbound verse goes close. That verse is just raw as fuck. It still amps me up so much and its just multi after multi. It's humerous in parts, dark in others, it's just a perfect freestyle verse. 10/10
