Yo I just noticed that
In honor of March Madness, ESPN personality and Hip-Hop junkie Scott Van Pelt has combined his love for rap music with his love for basketball and created the 2012 MC Bracket – a 64-artist, NCAA-style, single-elimination, vote-based tournament to decide who his listeners consider the best artist in Hip-Hop history.
Similar to the NCAA, the MC Bracket is divided into four regions – East Coast, West Coast, Dirty South and 8 Mile (for the Midwest) – each containing 16 spots with seeding determined by a selection committee comprising staff members of ESPN Radio’s Scott Van Pelt Show. Also like the NCAA tourney, some teams (MCs) are shipped out of their native region, causing, for example, names like Master P to end up seeded in the East Coast while Common ends up in the West.
Considering that the field consists of MCs from both the past and present, some great ones were destined to be left out. Whittling an MC field with nearly 40 years’ worth of names down to 64 couldn’t have been an easy task. Despite this fact, the debate and semi-furor over some omitted names – and names that some feel shouldn’t have made the cut – has already begun. Both the comments section of the MC Bracket page on ESPN.com and Van Pelt’s Twitter timeline have already been flooded.
But such debate is the nature of both music and sports fandom, and Van Pelt is reveling in it.
“[The] beauty of this – is this. The back and forth that is both endless and pointless to a large degree and yet, here we are,” he replied to a follower unhappy with one of the matchups.
Voting for Round 1 began March 6, and the MC Bracket tourney runs through March 25.

Anyways, update us when the first round is over

01. No Biggie, No Pac
02. Jeru the Damaga? Seriously.
03. Eminem, and the 2 aforementioned names above should of been # 1 seeds too.
2pac is considered by most, and me, along with Eminem, as the best ever to do it, and he's not even on the fuckin list. Shame on you Scott. I respect you, even though at times you can be a tad annoying with your Boston accents, and I liked the idea of mixing a hip hop music challenge bracket in with a sports affiliated site/program, but at least do it right, if you're going to do it in the first place.
