True, I forgot it is an album with a lot of hits. And the whole feel of the album is more attractive to new Em fans. They're love Superman and Without Me but I cannot see them blasting The Way I Am or Bitch Please II lol

And that includes Biggie and Pac, whore
And I got an Evil Twin
So who the fuck do you think that third and that fourth spot's for?

People all know Without Me, Till I Collapse, White America, Square Dance. Girlies love Hailie's Song.

No wonder people buy it. Not to mention it's awesome.

Yup, I agree. Plus, when lots think Old Em, I've noticed they think of 8 Mile/TES Em more than MMLP Em.

Yeah, or SSLP. MMLP gets no love :n:

You know, I never understood that tbh.

God, MMLP was him at his most vicious...I can see why it gets passed on by people, it's because that's the Eminem that everyone hated. It's the Eminem who took all of the problems in the world and exaggerated/exploited them for his amusement.

I hadn't really noticed all the hits TES has/had until you all pointed them out. And compare them to MMLP--a CD that has only one radio-friendly song.

A lot of the links/pics I've posted in the last year or so, if they're dead, there is a probability that I have archived it on Archive.today.

The Eminem Show is basically an upgraded version of Recovery. They're twin albums, really, as they share similar subject matter and are more toned down than previous albums (The Marshall Mathers LP & The Eminem Show, Relapse & Recovery).

The thing I don't understand is how people can enjoy listening to Tyler, The Creator, but can't bother to listen to The Marshall Mathers LP.

Shit doesn't make sense, b.

The eminem show did have better subject matter tho, and he was much more serious on it, literally, as well as with the slim shady way of telling it like it is. While it didn't break ground with concepts like mmlp, white america was definitely an interesting view of everything, and sing for the moment was a great, serious take on the reality of his life/music and its affect. Not to mention hailies song, who the fuck saw that coming? A great pump-up, inspirational type track he never had before with till i collapse and possibly his best first single without me :y:

I agree with this. TES is obviously way better but I can definitely agree with this. Recovery and TES are the only albums Em hasn't picked on lol. He loves those albums because they're so personal to him.

One of my favorite albums ever, but possibly largely due to nostalgia. But it's a great record. And from what I can tell, by observing teenagers on the internet (okay, that sounded creepy.... you know, people like my cousins on facebook, haha), Em's legacy is being passed on to the next generation of high schoolers, which is mad cool. Young people even now, listen to 'old Eminem' and love it, just like my friends and I did, back in the day. It's kind of like "old Eminem" (other people's term... but it makes sense) is kind of like what Radiohead was when I was in hs. When I have kids, I'm going to bump that shit all over the place like my parents bumped Bob Dylan and Tom Waits, and shoved it down my throat (it worked). Hopefully the Stan-love will rub off on them.

Haha, isn't it funny to think that one day, not to far in the future, Eminem will be "old people music"?? Like the Doors, or the Rolling Stones... lol

TES was probably the first album he put out where he both lost and gained fans.

A great album that was hated on by his hardcore fans, and embraced by an eager public.

I had it on cassette...
"America...just a nation of two hundred million used car salesmen with all the money we need to buy guns and no qualms about killing anybody else in the world who tries to make us uncomfortable" — Hunter S. Thompson

"Poison the well, your enemies are thirsty!" — Modest Mouse

except for the fact when Rolling Stones came out I doubt it old people would of disliked them the same way old people dislike eminem. I cant really see eminem ever being called 'old people' music.

Old school maybe... You dont see people calling Rakim, KRS-One 'old people music'
(I know the havnt been round as long) but yeah, you get my point
