Is Stan even considered a real insult on this site? It makes no sense, this is an Eminem site. I would hope everyone here who signed up is a Stan to some degree.

How the fuck does Em miss bars? He'll let Porter have one word at the end of some lines, and all of the sudden he misses full bars? I haven't seen him, since his comeback, miss a single fucking bar or forget the lyrics. What the fuck.

You stans can sit there and try to reason it out all you want, since you're built to do that, but it just makes you look narrow-minded in regards to hiphop as a whole. You're all just stroking eachother here and most of you have no idea what you're talking about -- dropping names of artists as if you actually know about them and watch them.

Nollie, I respect you and have nothing against you but I sincerely speak on behalf of just about everyone else when I say shut the fuck up about that "Stan" shit.

You're the kid with the same fuckin contacts Hopsin has (which he makes fun of in his recent song) and admitted countless times in the past about having every Em song, editing every featured song for just his verse and your bonerific childhood story about Eminem. You're in no position to call anyone a Stan.

For real though, he's cool when he doesn't post in the Eminem section lmao.

Na he probably didn't because the backing track was always playing over his voice. I'm referring to the concert I saw in 2003. Dunno if you mean the time before that or not?

NextEpisode wrote:
"Em has an aggressive delivery"... Yes, that is what causes his voice to go soar. It isn't sustainable, that's my point.

It's not why he gets almost hoarse at the end of every concert - I worked with a speech therapist (because I'm gonna be a teacher and naturally need to know how to work my voice right) and we weren't talking about Eminem but Beyonce. My speech therapist said that Beyonce can't do all the yodelling for another 10 years to the extreme she does it now. I can't possibly name the technical terms in English, but basically the key to keep/develop a strong voice that can go on for hours is to warm it up and relax it the right way. Also there are special techniques you use during your singing/talking.

I never heard anything about Em working with a speech therapist before so I doubt he does that.

Everyone's voice gets deeper whether we like it or not.

I think it's important to remember that Em doesn't perform that much anymore. He used to do full tours in America and Europe now he does the occasional date every couple of months so he's not going to be as sharp and perfected vocally, although I personally didn't see anything wrong with his vocals. Overall the performance was enjoyable. There's no point in comparing it to old stuff. He's obviously been through a few life changing things that separates old Em from new Em. Might as well accept that.

On another note I love that you can never predict the direction these threads are going to go lol.

I agree with Menzo. His voice changed too much to do exactly the same voice, it was a lot of more nasal back them.

In any Stan performance from 2009 up to now, you can see the difference even if he is trying to make the old voice.

I think it was largely intentional. If you listen to songs recorded around the time of the MMLP (Forgot About Dre, If I Get Locked Up, Bad Influence etc) his voice if more akin to the SSLP. Also, listen to Kim. Did he re-record that track for the MMLP? His voice certainly sounds a lot higher on the original version. I think the best comparison is his Grammy performance of Stan to the album version; when he performs is live he sounds a lot more nasally. When Em recorded the MMLP he was experimenting with his voice: almost like an actor would for a film. All of the voices he uses on that album have been recorded and re-recorded to perfection.

Em's 2010 performance of Renegade shows that he can almost go back to his older voice, but really I think it's difficult.

Okay Menzo, but this doesn't change anything. I still stand by what I said. And for the record, Em isn't the only artist I do that with. I just hate having to fast-forward through songs.:y:

Not really, he's always been the same. Back in the day, the drugs just made him goofier, but he's still doing goofy stuff and joking around before he kicks the bucket.

But anyways, about Em's voice..I'd have to agree with Amadeo's theory, I wonder if all the screaming and yelling he did on previous albums had any effect on the albums after..
