He didn't really sell out with "My Name Is", the content was still pretty amusing. Eminem should have definitely replaced "My Fault" & "I'm Shady" with "Low, Down and Dirty" & "No One's Iller".

Replace "I'm Shady"?

And, regarding the topic, I can't say yes or no on that one. I'm leaning toward yes but it's just so hard for me to gauge tbh

People saying Relapse is better is making me laugh. Not because I disagree, I love Relapse, but because they all hated Relapse when that's all they had left to listen to while waiting for Recovery. Recovery dropped and it was a classic. Now it's been overplayed by everyone and they need something else to hate. They haven't listened to Relapse in awhile so that's their shit again and it's a good album whereas the overplayed Recovery is now considered awful.

When Em's next album drops, people will revise their lists now including Recovery and it will be looked at as a top 25 rap album to them. The new album will suck after being called a classic. Happens every time.

You're very repetitive.

Recovery is enjoyed by the majority of this site. Not sure why people think otherwise, this thread is proof of that.

Recovery lacks replay value, that's the reason for it being forgetten after a while. I've never been a massive fan, even from the first listen. Relapse has always been more memorable for me. They "all" hated Relapse is obviously stupid.

This idea that Relapse was hated by the majority then loved by the majority when Recovery came out, which was loved by the majority, then hated after a while, it so innacurate it's unfunny. You seem to use this just this site as a judge of what the majority like, which is fucking ridiculous.

And can we pleae stop using the word 'classic'? Does anyone even really know what it means?

I don't think it was a sell out move, but I'm sure some did.

Motherfucker dyed his hair! Lying about his age, and running around in this pop artist video! Fuck that! Where's the hardcore Slim Shady from LDD and NOI?!

And before that...

Why are you talking all this drug shit, Em? Your lyrical game was way better on Infinite too. Oh, now you don't care about god? All devilish in your music? Shit, you're just trying to use shock value because you know it will sell better than that uber lyrical classic shit you were spitting on your title track!

These are sort of hyperbolic characterizations of the fickle fan, but you get my point. Just wanted to clear up what I was trying to say, because I didn't fully explain it before.

To answer the question that was originally asked by the OP, I would say that "better" depends on the context...what are you listening to the album for? What's the situation? Is it lyrically better, instrumentally, or does it all lie in the overall content? I don't know.

It would probably be in my top 25, but I think I'm a stan for sure. I'm not nearly as critical of Eminem as I am others, but I can't really help it. Nor do I want to, truthfully. If I allowed myself to see all of the glaring problems with some of his work, I couldn't enjoy it.

I agree with Mike about the replay value of that album. I can't help but feel like that about Relapse, but Recovery's replay value is lower than that of most of his previous albums.

Please stop saying "everyone". A lot of people were caught up in"OMG NEW EMINEM ALBUM HAS LEAKED" mode and had their rose-tinted specs on (I know I did and overrated it for a while).

I don't mind Recovery, it has it's moments, it's just too inconsistent and the production, and his flow, take a shine off the whole project for me. On Fire, So Bad, GTC and YNO are really enjoyable songs, though. YNO could well go down as his most underrated song ever.

I think if you pitted up Recovery against other top albums it would be quite easy to find 25 'better' albums.

Though, as an Eminem fan probably this,

I have always been a Relapse detractor... still is. Just feel bad about repeating myself consistently about the accents hurting the enjoyment

If you'd ask Em this question, I'm sure he'd agree that there are - at least - 25 better rap-albums ever recorded.

To you, maybe. There are MANY Eminem fans out there who most likely still bump Recovery from time to time. Myself included. To say it doesn't have replay value is wrong, when people replay it often. I see people post on here "Listened to Recovery again today, it's great."

Assumptions are bad. Don't ever assume because YOU don't like something that automatically means there's no replay value.

I'm sorry for not writing 'for me' or 'imo' after every fucking post. Of course it's my opinion, hence why it was ME who wrote it. Do you follow?

You really are a whining little bitch, IMO. You're a shit poster, IMO. Your posts are so repetitive, IMO. For me, your posts are very, very annoying.

Which now urges this question to me. How would Eminem answer this question if it was about SSLP, MMLP, or TES?

Think about it right now. His real opinion. What would Eminem say if you asked him if there was 25 Hip-Hop albums better than TES? or MMLP even?

I think he would say yes to SSLP definitely, he's always thought less of that album.
