Do you know how many people are Em fans nowadays? More so than any other rapper in history, which is why he's sold the most out of any hip hop artist. He's the most well-known. If any rapper were to diss him, without a response, their fans would turn on them for dissing Em and make them lose credibility from their fans.

Therefore, it hurts their careers to even attempt at it. For instance, Hopsin: disses tons of rappers and references them all the time, yet still has a reasonably large fan base because people support him. Ever seen him even mention Em in a song? My point exactly: his whole fanbase would turn on him if he did. It just makes no sense to even try it because it only hurts you in the long run.

And do you know how many people DON'T like Em? Think of the credibility that artist would get if he shitted on Em (which is a possibility, stop saying that Em would automatically win).

Of course the person might win, but the fans would then refuse to acknowledge it because of their loyalty to Em. Of course a lot of people don't but more do than don't therefore it would only hurt the person's career. I'm not backing Em by saying he'd definitely shit on any rapper that dissed him, just that their fanbase would unravel if they did. Look what happened to Benzino (not that he had much of one to start) or even Ja Rule who was reasonably big (despite the fact it's mostly 50's beef but Em was involved).

^ Oh yeah because everyone on this planet likes to suck on Eminem's balls. You do realize that if another MC proved to be better than Eminem, people wouldn't hate on that MC because of their "loyalty to Em." Get your head out the gutter, listeners like whoever has skill. :shakehead:

Still no.

Listeners like whoever they like, they follow trends usually. If they liked skills, you wouldn't see faggots such as Pitbull on the top charts.
Anyway, the casual Eminem fans who became a dickrider won't ever admit Eminem's loss. That's it.

Maybe he doesn't have skills to you, but that doesn't mean kids aren't saying "BARS" every time he says a line in his songs.

That means the kids are stupid, not that Soulja Boy is talented.

But who are you to define what is good and what isn't?

If those kids believe that Soulja Boy, and Waka Flocka have skill, then so be it.

It's a little world called "opinion."

The standards.

If you fail a test, you failed it no matter how strongly you believe that in your opinion you didn't fail it.

But music ISN'T a test, music is completely subjective. Test results and musical results are different.

If someone thinks that Jay-Z sets the standard for being the best rapper alive, what would you say to that person?

It's all subjective, that's all it ever comes down to. Of course, if more people accept and agree with a certain opinion, that opinion is easier to regard as fact. But in the end, it's all opinions, yada yada yada.

It's not totally subjective.

When you label yourself as a rapper, there are certain things to respect. Staying on beat (I see you 'Tone), shit like that.

I would be ok with that because Jay-Z is a dope rapper, and he knows how to rap. Why do you think rap fans hate on Waka and Soulja? Because they're wack. They do wack shit, their content is WACK, they don't use the same party/bitches/Drugs shit in each song they record.

Even if the guy killed Eminem, his hardcore stans would still defend Em because he's their favorite. Music is subjective to a certain degree, YES you might like a wack rapper, but you have to know who is dope and who ain't.

*Word, not world. Also, opinion isn't a small word. It has three (four if your a red neck) syllables, seven letters, and it is expressed everywhere in our modern society. Now, I'm done being a smart ass.

That doesn't mean music shouldn't have standards and quality, for the most part it is an opinion but what would you say to 50 Tyson being the standard of which everything is judged. Everything would be classic thus critics and fans alike use their brains by picking an artist, that for the most part, is well balanced in all qualities that matter to that genre's listeners when making his or her music. Thus, Jay-Z, Eminem, Kanye West, etc. are used as a constant to judge music. However, Soulja Boy has never been the standard even though he once had popularity.
