I will never understand the concept people on the internet have made up that "I like this song more but this song is better". That makes NO sense. People say stuff like, "I like White America but obviously Lose Yourself is a better song." That doesnt make any sense. Lose Yourself may have better rhyming, but that doesnt make the entire song "better". What exactly makes a song better than another song in any way besides your own opinion? If you like a song more than another song, you obviously think it's "better".

I think you can like a song and recongize that a different song is better. For example, my favorite song off of Recovery is Space Bound, but think GTC is the best song on the album.

I just watched a Kanye West interview where he talks about how its UNDENIABLE that Halo is beyonce's best song ever and i have to agree with him. I mean, when you break it down to what art is about- creativity, effort, inginuity, impact on the masses, execution of concept, originality, relevance etc... some songs just tick all the right boxes. In rap it could be the drum patterns, the number of rhymes, the continuity of the story, the sequence of arrangments, the melody of the hook, the reflection of reality, the clarity or complexity of concepts... there are so many ways to objectively listen to music. Award shows were made with just that in mind- to be objective in assessing music.

I've learnt to do that through Debate and philosophical arguments i've engaged in. I mean, i might not agree with an argument made but sometimes its just better constructed.

To the OP- i'm also of the opinion that Eminem shouldnt make a solo album right now. Not necessarily because he doesnt have alot to talk about (which is to some extent true) but because he seems so robotical now. I feel a part of the "excitment" of him working on a record is gone... or at least i dont feel it when i listen to the record. He has a hunger to make good music (from everyone saying he spends days on a record) but that.... that... passion just doesnt come out now.


A movie, D12 album, world tour, some time off and a few more random features could do him good.

Idk about you guys, but on Richard he sounds excited and hungry...at least to me he does. You guys keep saying he isn't trying, but really it does sound like he's trying on that song. Throw It Up, he sounds like he doesn't give a shit...on Richard he sounds like he's having a lot of fun. Is that so bad? I'd rather him put out material like this than shitty emotional songs like Lighters.

never hate on eminem songs..but sometimes i wish he drop more songs like wiz khalifa/mac miller does. just for free one song in a month. sometimes we have to wait months for 16 bars
