Why do people consider 25 To Life a bad song?

Never understood the hate. It's got everything people wanted from Em (lyrically). It's a very relatable and emotional song, the rhyming is good...is it really because the song is ultimately about hip hop? I don't care if it's about hip hop or not, EVERYONE should relate to this song in some way. Take out the "fuck you hip hop" and the whole rest of the song can apply to anyone. I love the song and its my favorite from Recovery. It's one of the few songs where I believe the yelling/shouting is necessary to show his anger and how he feels betrayed.

So why is this song so hated on? I relate to almost every single word, don't tell me you guys don't. If you've ever been in love with a girl/guy who used you then I don't see why people wouldn't jump all over this song. (As I said, IGNORE the hip hop line and apply everything else to yourself)

I didn't say EVERYONE hated this song...was just simply asking why the people who don't like it, don't like it. Could have perhaps worded it better in the title. Obviously more people on here would enjoy it than everyone else. As I said, I HAVE seen people hate on it and would like to hear their opinions as well.

The main complaint I've always heard is that its cliche for being a song ultimately about hip hop.

the beat is horrible, i can't believe dj khalil (one of the illest producers out at the moment) made this piece of crap. the only good part is when the chorus kicks in.

the rhymes. the rhymes on this song are so subpar it's unbelievable! sounds like it could have been on encore or pistol poppin for that matter. it seems like he was so obsessed with finding double entendre that he forgot all about this aspect.

It's not about Kim though. Hip hop obviously was what made him famous...Kim did somewhat make him famous though. He rapped about killing her and gave him attention.

The rhymes aren't brilliant, but I personally love the beat and the story that it tells. It's genuine emotion being displayed, unlike almost everything he has done since Recovery. One of my favourites from the album tbh.

It's not about Kim though. Hip hop obviously was what made him famous...Kim did somewhat make him famous though. He rapped about killing her and gave him attention.

I know it's not about kim. and I don't think that him mentioning her on a record made him famous.
