First off I wanna say, this is one of the most loved songs on Recovery. I've seen it get VERY good praise, better than much of Recovery. And that, it deserves.

Second of all, someone complaining that he messed up by saying 'Go marry someone else and make 'em famous?' ???

That was intentional. So was every other double entendre in the song. Of course it could have gave it away. He didn't mess up, he meant to do that, it's part of the song that ISN'T HOW IT INITIALLY SEEMS.

Haters started to appreciate my art

But what am I gonna do when the rage is gone?
And the lights go out in that trailer park?"

I want to hear his old shit, I want to hear his spin/opinion on today's generation of kids and what's going on in the world. Some emotional stuff is ok, but it's generally been what drove his last few albums.

Don't get me wrong, I love his emotional songs, but I want to hear MMLP type shit. I think we'll be getting it on his next solo album too.

Sorry to disappoint but that's never gonna happen.
Fuck top five, bitch, I'm top four
And that includes Biggie and Pac, whore
And I got an Evil Twin
So who the fuck do you think that third and that fourth spot's for?

what about good writing skill, a touch of talent, mentored by dre and the fact that he was white? I think those are the reasons why he became famous. those things you mentioned only became apparent after he got famous.

This song is brilliant. The song obviously has to be structured by talking about things related to "her" because he refers to hip hop as a girl. So talking about dre would certainly not make any sense for this song. So then we get.... I Need a Doctor. Were you satisfied...probably not.

What, are you talking about? I don't think you understood what that responce was meant for, do you?

I like it. It gets better upon more listens, for me anyway.

I like the guitar-ish sounding beat on it. :y:

Well I can't speak for other people, but I think it's a great song.

And I haven't heard many people call it a bad song... so I can't say I've heard others consider it bad.

What's especially good about it is the way Em conceals the concept until the closing lines. That's what makes his execution of this concept unique, his writing is more detailed that anybody's.

and the fact that a kid who i know that raps and is an em fan said he didnt know it was about hip-hop till the last line says a lot. that always got me and made me realize how clever he did it, even tho his vagueness in the song gave it away for me.
