I can understand why older people might consider the greatest as he had a great impact back then, but he's just a good rapper. Will never be in my favorites list tho, and that's what people should think of him too.
I mean besides the impact and influence he had, he's nothing more than an average rhymer, repetitive at times too.

I used to think the same until I had a debate on this with someone on KTT (and I was rightfully defeated), 2Pac's held that high because of the emotions he show on his music and how he has the ability to grab anybody's attention to listen to what he has to say. I mean, if you're having a chat and a 2Pac song plays, you'll shut up for a second to listen to him. His presence is so powerful, you simply can't ignore him.

I agree with this. Pac's rhymes weren't AMAZING, but he was passionate about his music and you can hear it in his raps.

Would still pick Em over Pac though. Simply like his music and rapping better.

More than any other rapper I think Pac was able to grab you with his emotion and passion. Generally I think people go off of that more than pure lyrics or beat.

There is no one definitive greatest. It will always be an opinion vs another. It's an endless argument but interesting nonetheless.

I feel like as an MC, Biggie was better. Had better rhyme schemes and had some great storytelling tracks. But as an artist, Pac was way ahead. He was more ambitious and passionate about his craft than Biggie was.
