Word!

I wish it would happen too, but I don't think it'd work anyway. The type of "rap" that does well in the mainstream now isn't even hip hop. It's just people rapping over eurodance beats. Full of synths and a basic kick drum. It's like a completely different genre now, and actual hip hop has lost most of it's commercial viability. Like Kendrick Lamar and Dr. Dre released their song last week and it didn't even rank in the top 100 most popular songs at all. I don't think hip hop is that popular anymore.

But anyway, this documentary looks so interesting. :D Can't wait until we get to see it in full. I've always been interested in the cultural impact that hip hop has had on society, so I hope they cover that a lot. They had a similar documentary a while ago in the UK, "How hip hop changed the world", or something like that.

North America only on June 15, but the distributor that bought the movie has worldwide rights to it and said in a statement that they intend to bring it all over the globe. I assume you guys will get it in theaters sooner or later.

Since at the Oscars, some movies receive awards I haven't even heard of yet, my guess is later rather than sooner :'( . You (US members) have got to make a thread about this documentary as soon as it's out, it might make it even harder to wait, but at least we'll have something.

Some writer for AllHipHop.com wrote this:

"It was nice to see Eminem, Ice T and Royce rap the part about Chris The Glove in Ice's song Reckless #ArtofRap"

https://twitter.com/#!/Tim_Sanchez/stat ... 6951949312

Do you think it might mean that Em will be rapping there?

Which is a bummer, because we all anticipated a freestyle.

You see, rappers were asked to either rap some of their favorite lines or freestyle. Em chose to rap some of his favorite Ice-T lines.

Thanks for info.

So it means Marshall will rap there but not freestyle, I'm curious about it too.

That's pretty awesome too, since Reckless was the first rap song Em ever heard. Full circle.
