Proof or Dre? Obviously both played huge roles in making him what he is today. They both helped him out a whole lot in different ways, but I wonder if Em could have made it without either one of these guys. Discuss..

yeah i know kind of a dick move making you choose one haha but I think if i had to choose that I would have to go with proof. Without proof as his guiding force pushing him to be better idk if he ever would have done stuff to get noticed by someone like Dre. Whereas before dre even knew about him he was starting to catch people's eye in the underground so id think that eventually something would have had to of happened with that although from reading way i am his life and mood were going pretty damn bad at the time so if he didnt have someone discover him soon after like that he may have just given up.

Like Rex said, Proof helped Em get better and better til he was the best. Dre laid down the road for marketability and mainstream success but ultimately, Proof was his anchor...hell, Proof was Em's green light into acceptance of the underground community.

How many times have we heard how Proof would tell people, "The white boy is dope, the white boy is dope" Proof was that boost and confidence (father/brother figure?) Em had absent in his life (especially after Ronnie).

This. Proof and the rest of D12 were Em's support network. Dre did save him, because he told them if he didn't make it that year he was going to quit rap forever and focus on his job, but Proof and D12 made sure he made it to that point and didn't give up.
