"Hurt" by Johnny Cash

I remember people raving about this song, but I never cared to listen to it, as I'm not a Cash fan or anything. I just recenlty listened to it, and it has become one of my favorite songs. I can't stop listening to it. Thoughts?

Great song. Yeah its a NIN cover. One of the few times a cover might have outdone the original. He did a lot of covers on those last few albums. 'Rust Cage' a soundgarden cover is dope as hell too.

I saw it in a commercial for a game. That's what turned me on to it lol. Not sure what game it was though. Some war game it looked like. They used the song effectively.

I only heard this song/saw the video after he died, and its by far the saddest song I've ever heard...I think mainly cause it was right after he died when I heard it.

I've been a fan of cash for maybe 8-9 years... I heard this song Hurt and wanted to hear more, so I copped a cd and I took it while I was on vacation in the Padre Islands. I listened to the cd while the sun came up over the ocean at 5 a.m... one of the most beautiful moments of my life

Great song, but not my favorite. Johnny Cash was a wonderful artist. I've been listening to him for as long as I can remember.
One of the best records I have of him is Johnny Cash Live at San Quentin. His "I Walk the Line" and the song "San Quentin" were performed in absolute perfection. The crowd goes crazy during his performance of "San Quentin". I know that Live Concert better than his first (Folsom Prison), so I can't judge which is better.
