Eminem and DMX similarities and differences a collab

Very similar Artists as far as both rely heavy on emotion and speak on Personal issues in their Lyrics even covering the same Subjects like growing up in broken dysfunctional homes, speak alot on poverty, troubles with drug addiction etc


Both also are similar in that they both do the Singing thing on their Hooks and even when Singing they use a very similar style obviously have very diffrent voices but the style of Singing is again relying on emotion.


Diffrences are that even with all of these similarties DMX remains a Street Rapper when speaking on these same Subjects/Topics and having a similar emotional style to Eminem while Eminem hasn't ever been a Street Rapper because he never lived that lifestyle only grew up around it while DMX actually lived it and reflects it in his Music. So in a nutshell is it fair to say Eminem is basically a DMX with out the Street/Thug element and vice versa DMX is a Thug/Street version of Eminem?

You are barely scratching the surface, they are more different than you think. @Trimss, they'd make a good collab though.

They would definitely make a great song about their addiction. But if they made a song it would probably be something like Ridaz part 2, I don't know why but i feel this way.

What i think Eminem should do is an Eminem Show type collab Album with DMX them collabing on tracks like Sing For The Moment, When I'm Gone, Slippin, Lord Give Me A Sign, Going THrough Changes, Soldier, Not Afraid, Damian etc with Eminem Producing it with some Production from Dre too


Then do a Slim Shady type Album with Redman where he does the comedy, crazy lyrics type of tracks with Redman


I think the DMX collab Album apart from it being a potential classic and being a top seller it would benefit both in this sense DMX can benefit Songs like say a Mockingbird type Song they did in the sense some deem it a lil soft but DMX can give it a harder edge while Eminem can benefit DMX in the sense he can give the DMX Songs that are real hard a more cross over vibe. Basically both doing what they do solo but meeting in the middle.



Though Eminem is capable of doing this himself Lose Yourself, 8 MIle Road, Sing For The Moment etc are perfect examples i feel with DMX there would be a balance where both can deliver a classic collab Album
