I'm just trying to work out how long it would take em to make a new album start to finish. Like do you think he's already got tracks hes made for the next album? Im sure hes said in the past it took him like 20 mins or something silly to write lose yourself not saying all his writings like that. But to make an album and everything put together..also do you think he will announce when he starts making it? I know this is gna be a bunch of questions and opinions but i crave new em music majorly ha ha discuss..

Well, if he wants to make an album, I'm sure that a year is more than enough. So the reason it's been 2 years without an album must be something else.

I think he records over the course of about half a year to a year. I don't think he spends more than a year making an album...

I think give him one more year and he will have an album out, because He has to work on stuff involving his label, also if he performs live that takes up some time from rehearsing and such.

From his friends & piers, we know that Em basically lives in the studio, and that he constantly record verses & produce tracks.

Announcing an album before the actual recording has begun isn't very wise, imo. It only creates a lot of expectations and preassure, from both the label & the public. If Em just record what he wants, when he wants it, he can control when what he'd like to put out, when he wants it released.

Personally, I think Em will announce his next album when he's figured out what he wants with the album, and has an idea of how the final product will look like (a good portion of the material has been recorded), and when he feels he got a solid first single.

The rumours that Em is working with various producers is, to me, a good sign. At the very least, it shows that the demand is rising for a new Em album. At the very best, Em is working on an album.

Well, back around November or December of 2009, he said that he was switching tactics on "Relapse 2", so he was obviously working on it then.

Expect it after Good Kid In A Mad City (well, whatever Kendrick's album will be named, he hasn't decided). I mean, he can't release one now because Slaughterhouse is being pushed, then next is 50 Cent so he can't push on out then, and after 50 Cent is a very small gap to Kendrick's album (he said it will be released near the end of the summer). So I see it being in that small gap (highly doubt it), or after Kendrick's buzz goes down. Then there is always the possibility of Detox (HA!), I'd expect it around Christmas but it's killing me to not have it now. Also, after Eminem's out Yelawolf will push his second album and Slaughterhouse probably after that, and so continues the cycle. Shady might even sign a new artist and there might be a 2.0 album.

That's exactly how I think 2012 to 2013 will pan out. And if they sign an/some artist(s) there will be another project there.
