The black community will never ever respect Eminem

Postby stillmatic » May 8th, '12, 09:57

Firstly, let me say I don't agree with it. I think Em's dope. But let me continue.

Whilst most of you rate Eminem as the greatest rapper of all time, I hope you understand that in the black community, or rather, the hip hop community, Em is no where near the best.

While most of you think that Eminem has several classic albums, the black community generally believes he has NONE.

While most of you think Relapse and Recovery were good/great albums, most believe they were pure trash.

While most of you completely ignore the racist tapes, the black community probably never ever will.

While most of you think Em is a role model, most in the black community think he's just a culture thief.

The biggest hip hop boards are SOHH and Coli. The vast majority of users are black too. Go in there and mention Eminem, and truly understand how the black community feels about him.

Here's a good little read of internet users who are black think of Eminem.

The point of this thread? To help you guys understand that outside of your own base, not many hip hop fans who aren't white even acknowledge him as good, let alone of the best.

I had a good laugh at that thread; you can clearly make out that they don't understand the artistry that lies in Hip hop music.

"Kids who get bullied listen to Eminem, real niggaz listen to XYZ"<-- this statement pretty much sums up how ignant the kids on that forum are. Unless they were trolling, smh!
Also, it's not right to stereotype the whole black community. People who actually know Hip hop appreciate the artist Eminem is. The 'best' Eminem critic I've ever come across who happens to be black has Eminem in his top 15.

Eminem is MORE respected by black people, when it comes to talks about the best rapper. White people are scared they are gonna be called racist if they mention him there.

This is the most retated post I ever read. And how can you judge the black comunity by reading posts from a bunch of not-so-inteligent wannabe gangsta kids that think rap is just about how black you are? They talk shit about Slaughterhouse JUST because Em signed them.

Saying that Em is not good is beyond stupid. And if "the black comunity" (represented here by SOHH and Coli members) says that, well... Do the members of the black comunity here think the same?
Like I said, the internet gave us all an opportunity to show the world how stupid we really are. Some of us are really using that opportunity.

I'm white and I don't care. Seriously if you're black and you don't respect Eminem für his lyrics, something's fucking wrong with you.
August 22 2013 - from Berlin to Paris, 400€ spent just for Eminem. IT WAS WORTH EVERY SINGLE CENT!

I would like to see those posters justify their comments.

I agree with the OP somewhat, even though I do think he is respected by credible black people such as other artists and people in the music industry. No one can really deny his talent.

But some people from the hip-hop community get turned off from his 'corny' singles and also not being able to relate to his music as much as someone like biggie for an example.

Ok, from my ignorance...how do you know that people are black, white or yellow???

Anyway I didn't read much but these are 2 comments on the first page :

"Word. Eminem & Jay are the best examples of wasted talent."

"I don't like him and Joe Budden. They plus (Slaughterhouse) always annoyed the fuck outta of me. Them niggas act too tough when their cornyballs"

And Jay and Joe Budden are...black!!

Anyway I don't care what these people (or you) think tbh.

he is!

and stillmatic, what that proves is that the black community are a bunch of racists who fail to acknowledge that a white rapper happened to be the best EVER in their own genre...

but luckily, they don't think like that :)

Way to generalize :facepalm

So the "black community" is a bunch of racists for having different opinions(yes I know some of them are ignorant but some of them actually speak the truth), but Eminem was not a racist for not liking when girls be on that "n-i-g-g-e-r shit" (let me guess he was young when he said it so it doesn't count)

;)

And people need to stop thinking people are racist because they do not think Eminem is the best in the genre. He is technically one of the best and I think Eminem is top 15 but I never understood how people just disregard other emcees and just push Em to the top so easily.

If the "black community" is racist for not placing Em as #1, then why isn't the "white community" racist for not putting a black emcee as #1 :shifty: :facepalm2

You really gotta cut it with bringing up a song Em wrote after a break up when he was...what, 16? Christ.[/quote]

LMAO I edited my post before I just saw this post by you because I KNEW I KNEW I was going to get the "young" story.

If the Lauryn Hill comments about white people turned out to be true, TRUST ME, I GUARANTEE U that none of you guys on here would be defending her in the same way, even though she is years younger than Eminem.

The tapes may have been when he were about 16/17, but weren't his hypocritical comments about her over a decade ago when he was 27/28? Was he still young then?

I only brought the n word tapes to PROVE A POINT of how idiotic certain people act on here when it comes to blindly defending EM.

How the hell does someone just generalize the black community and call them racist because many of them do not consider him to be #1? How is that racist if they think he is one of the best but don''t rate him #1 that much.

I could easily generalize and ask why doesn't the white community rate Nas as #1.

I don't know how can anyone defend that idiotic post

this post had me:

its not even about him being white. its not even about him being racist. hes just not that good. sure he can write lyrics and battle raps, but that gets you nowhere at the end of the day if you dont have tracks.

dudes highest selling rapper by millions and millions and his skill level 'gets you nowhere"

He didn't even say the N word on "Foolish Pride" either.

So.......Marshall Bruce Mathers III released a statement apologizing for something he never said? :(

You do know there was more than one tape right? Hence why he sued them because he did not want the other "tapes"(plural) released where he was actually saying the word.

"The girls I like to bone have big butts, no they dont cause I dont like that n*gger shit, I'm just here to make a bigger hit"

But like you said man thats in the past. :flutter:

Now Lauryn Hill on the other hand and the "racist" comment she made that was never proven......what a DISPICABLE human being Lauryn is......that "alleged" racist. I can't stand those alleged racists who don't have tapes of themselves that prove they are racists. That crap pisses me off

Before bashing him, read the first sentence. lol

Who cares.. Eminem was truly a genius in his prime. His delivery, flow and rhymes were always on-point and he's more versatile than a lot of rappers back then.
He had that new hip hop sound, and people hate on him because it was different from what they use to listen to.

Black or white, people who say Eminem has no classic are just dumb.

Yeah I never understood how people can say that MMLP is not a classic album. It obviously is. He was one of the rare artists that actually killed every single feature/ solo song in his prime.
