When it comes to Singing or Harmonizing

Postby Aftermathers » May 9th, '12, 04:02

We know a lotta his core fan base like it alotta his most succesful Albums and Singles are with him Singing. It has recieved a lotta positive views from those that do like it.

But you would even get some of his fans that don't like it that just don't wanna hear it and obviously people that aren't fans too

But overall do you think he is overrated or underrated when it comes to his Singing? comparing him to other Rappers that Sing and a Rapper that happens to Sing we know he not a real Singer but how do you think he sounds doing it?

Lose Yourself doesn't have him singing...........

In fact nearly every song he has wrote doesn't have any singing from him except half of a handful....

Eminem can't sing, he's a rapper. He's good at catchy hooks, but I don't think the talent goes farther than that.

Neither do Rock Bottom or Sing For THe Moment and other tracks

But at the same time tracks like Hailies Song, So Bad, Cleaning Out My Closet. I think it's understandable why it appeals to those that like it cos it's a unique style of Singing it's easy on the ears for a lotta people. It's crooning it's main appeal is how catchy it is.

But to people that like RnB or pfofessional Singers in general and actual real Singing that kind of Singing Eminem does won't appeal to them. People don't listen to Mary J Blige, Micheal Jackson, Celine Dion cos how catchy the Singing is people like the Vocal talent, vopice and just the fact they are real Singers who are great at it.

So it's either you gonna like the style Eminem does or you don't there isn't really an in between.

Listened to 'Talk To Me' earlier and thats exactly the type of 'singing' i like from Em. Hooks that really capture the whole feel that the song is going for.

That's a fair statement the talent lies in him being able to make it sound catchy and for those that like that particular style.

The people that do like it aren't gonna say he a real Singer but it certraiintly appeals to them.

I honestly think outta all the Rappers that do it Eminem, Max B and Bone Thugs sound the best.

He hums the hook melodically in the background, I love how that sounds.

Yeah. It's really noticeable in the movie, cause he leaves a lot out of the main rap. I bet there's a lot more stuff like that in other songs that we just don't hear. Especially stuff from that 8 Mile/Eminem Show period.

But you CANNOT deny that the hooks that Em comes up with are catchy as all hell. Just listen to "Black Cotton". That's one of the best hooks I've heard.

Nate Dogg never was a Rapper he was a Singer only.

Nate Dogg never was a Rapper he was a Singer only.

He was hip hop. That's basically what I meant.

But always a Singer that Sung RnB he just happened to feature on a lotta Hip Hop Artists Songs for Hooks he was an RnB Singer. Not a Rapper, not a Hip Hop Producer, not a Ghost Writer for Rappers he was an RnB Singer that just collabed alot with Rappers.

Now Max B is a better comparission to Eminem they are both Rappers that Rap Verses but Sing their Hooks neither Sing a particular genre of Music like their Singing is not RnB or anything it's basically crooning.

Now Lauryn Hill Sings and Raps too but her style of Singing is RnB while Em's style, Max B, 50 Cent those guys Singing can only be defined as catchy.

Even as someone who had stanned HARD for Eminem, I can honestly say that he is a shitty singer. Just no. Sorry. The music he makes is phenomenal (for the most part), and the singing hooks work when needed. But no. Should he ever release an R&B record, I'd hunt him down and end his as well as all of our misery.

His singing is getting worse and worse. He makes Ozzy look talented.

He can harmonize good (most rappers can) but once he tries to hit a key, everything goes to hell
