Pac was actually depressed and suicidal when he was recording matw, the rape case really fucked him up mentally.

somewhat.. that never was the main point of his songs

he also talked about his death a lot which depressed people do.. however i cant recall any lyric or interview where he went fully emo describing killing himself or harming himself like eminem does
EDIT: actually in thugs mansion he talks about having contemplated suicide once.. but yea thats it basically as far as i know.. for eminem, there were at least 2 or 3 videos in which he killed himself

The parent thing yeh he did go really hard on his mother he would be the first to admit that. But my main point was Songs like Hailies Song just a simple Song about loving his daughter.

But Hailies Song, 8 Mile Road, If I Had etc werent Songs about depression they were addressing specfic topics using raw emotions addressing being a proud parent, growing up in the hood and dealing with poverty for example.



I understand there is some Em Songs where he mentions his depression but that's a few Songs compared to say a Hailies Song or a Sing For The Moment and so on exactly the same kinda Songs 2pac had.

Thing those that felt this way even those who claim they are too soft songs, too emotional or whatever really it's not so much i think they dislike the songs anyone with compassion appreciatuion for good music deep down likes the value of those songs. It's more so people just not liking the popularity of those Songs.
