As fucked up as this is to say, I'm going to say Nicki. I was listening to some verse of hers on youtube last week, and I was like damn, that chick actually knows what she's doing.

Obviously Jay's longevity vastly outweighs anything Nicki's done lyrically yet, but since this is a Best Rapper of Today I have to give it to Nicki, simply because I think she could take Jay on a track at the moment.

For me it's the other way around. I just watched one of her latest music videos this weekend and as far as I remember - I try hard to forget because the song was painful to listen to - she didn't rap... I can't even say what genre it was: the beat didn't remind me of Hip Hop either, more like electropop.

I heard some of her songs and - when she actually raps - she's good, but IMO, Jay-Z is better and therefore gets my vote.
