It's under the name Bad Meets Evil, not Eminem. Only the hard core fans bought it.
which is kind of off when you think about it since d12 albums did so well, which i always assumed was because of em. but with them being so long ago and BME being new to the relapse/recovery era (mostly recovery) it seems strange
I know, it's a duo/group album & unfortunately no matter how dope Royce is lyrically, he never had mass appeal & all his albums sold really low, so he was literally hanging on EM's back on this one if we talk about sales. Rushing & labeling ''H:TS'' an EP certainly didn't help & it was stupid overall. Jay & Kanye took their time and crafted their album, it wasn't full LP but they didn't label it an EP either & the sales went bananas esp. for such an experimental project. Then again sales wise both Jay & Kanye have their huge fan bases unlike what's Bad Meets Evil situation.
D12 sold really well 'cuz of EM back then but they were interesting new act for the general public overall so it's kinda different. It's true in the beginning nobody knew anybody but EM by name or voice but as a group D12 was always well placed & interesting for those fans who buy albums.

than NO CHANCE.

I think Eminem dissing it had a negative impact on its sales. Fuck u Em.
