whose delivery do i like? dizaster, thesaurus, pat stay, illmac, hollohan,
knamelis. to name a few off the top

nocan is a good freestyler esp with technique over punches. which is why he came runner up in the redbull emsee
but illmac won that because hes a good free and puncher.

dizaster, twist, jerz swift, dna, real deal, saurus, illmac. are all better off the top.

and ive never checked out nils but ya twist has great rebuttles. uses em every round every match.
his against soul khan were great as shit

Two new Illmac battles:

Vs Tony D @ Don't Flop

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uAK75aFE ... e=youtu.be

Vs Arsonal

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... HwTgYZqhco

Just watched the Tony D battle. The DF crowds are so shit. They're getting progressively worse as well, which is a shame. I thought Tony was more direct, Illmac was more polished. Could have gone either way, to be honest.

Already seen Illmac Arsonal live but will have watch in HD in a bit.

I was just thinking the same thing... I CAN'T STAND Diz's delivery. It's so fucking fake. Along with anyone else who attempts to sound mad. They all bit iron solomon's battle delivery anyway, lol.

I don't have enough experience watching battles to judge whether Thesaurus/Illmaculate are better/worse at freestyling. Both of them are Scribble Jam champions...but so is NCD.

It's about equal. Saures and Illmac have gotten more shine in the battle world because they've 1) converted to the writing style, and 2) they stayed in the battle scene while NoCan was persuing a music career. (can't mention illmac's and Thesaures's attempts at music because they were god awful)

And, in my opinion, Nocando destroyed Dizaster in that GTN battle...and that was basically a freestyle battle. And they were locked at 1-1 in previous battles. If it's not acapella, Dizaster can barely stay on beat and relies too much on filler "gun bars" when he's going off the top.

Agreed.

Personally, I don't like listening to battlers who can't actually rap. There's a huge difference in delivery / flow between the two. <<< Kid Twist being the exception.

It's funny that we disagree so much on music yet have very similar points of view on something like this.

No. I said I dislike battlers who can't actually rap BECAUSE it hinders their flow (even accapella) and their delivery. Not because they don't make music, lol.

It can almost be stated as a fact that battlers who have spent time with an instrumental and recording songs will outshine those who haven't, as far as flow and delivery is concerned.

gotchya

and u could say that yeah but should they try to get into music making mode while battling it hurts their battling

like thesaurus, ever since he did that tape his flow has become stagnent like hes trying to stay so structured and it holds his lyrics back.

i like the free range the acapella gives you and i think its weird if u use the delivery you would in the studio.
i believe battles are supposed to be in your face trying to insult that shit out of your opponent.

but i guess thats just where opinions differ
