It's an unfinished song, that's what it is. He had it written on point but recorded it when he wasn't able to deliver at all. Sometimes rappers do 3-4 takes to deliver when nothing bothers them so I can't imagine how's that even possible for whoever to deliver at a crazy moment like that.
The worst possible timing of EM recording it is the reason it sounds like a freestyle poetry rather than a song but overall it was very well written & if it was recorded when EM was adequate I believe this song would have blasted the ground even if it didn't do well commercially.
I think there's a way better version of it anyways but unfortunately we'll never hear it.

I'm not the only one to say that. Look around many of us feel the same. The song was part of his personal collection. It's like revealing someone's darkest secrets. Some times it's better not to release such songs, man.

I know u aren't, sorry I singled u out! However, I believe in no secrets & no discretion...I, myself reveal everything about my life & my feelings through FB & just from speaking! I dont hide anything & I have NO BOUNDARIES, NOTHING IS OFF LIMITS WITH ME...He's the greatest rapper to ever touch the mic IMO so I think if he recorded a song it should be released for the entire world to hear, it could be CLASSIC!

He has always said in interviews that: At the end of the day; I'm a very private person. I've put a lot of me out there, the world know things about me. There are certain things that I like to keep private is just, you know, just my family business. There were days even still, but, especially at those times! I couldn't wait to get home to and have privacy, while no one's watching, you know? *Dream On playing in the BG and then transits to SFTM* Loved the interview. :worship:

He said those exact words on Radio 1, back when Relapse was about to drop.

Having said that, Kim was produced in a similar way, and that track is almost fault-less.

Not everything has to be lyrical the whole purpose was of the track as you just said. Sometimes just making good music is what people like.

How is Difficult 'good music'? He sounds half dead and is pretty much just rambling. It's haunting in that you're listening to a man at his lowest point, but describing it as 'good music' is odd.

Not sure how anyone can listen to Dificult 'time and time again', let alone want it to be a hit. It's bad enough that it was leaked.

This. Difficult is a good song for what it is, but it's fucking overrated as FUCK. I can't listen to the song because it's so depressing. And it's sad how some fans actually consider Difficult to be better than Em's current music...it most certainly isn't. Difficult is the product of a half dead, drugged out hollow shell of a man and fuck anyone who thinks he should go back to doing music like this. Especially fuck people who say he should go back on drugs...we've heard what he's like on drugs and I'll pass on that. I would only be interested in hearing his material from 2006-2007 just because he's my favorite artists.

The emotion he uses in this song is raw, real, and great. But his lyrics are the sloppiest they've ever been, no matter what the song was about.

Honestly listening to "Difficult" again a couple minutes ago, the rhyming isn't nearly as bad as I remember people talking about. I mean sure he isn't rhyming like crazy, but he's got some good two-syllable rhyme schemes going on there, and that combined with the emotion and everything makes for a damn good song. So simplistic and honest.

But, no. In no sane world should this song ever become a mainstream hit. Despite owning and loving "Difficult" on my iTunes, it should have never been released.

Two things.

No, OP is wrong. It shouldn't be a single, or shouldn't have been released or marketed or any of that, fuck that.

But none of you fuckers need to bash him for asking. He made an INTERESTING topic. Seriously, where's the mods in all this? Are you bashing him too?

I mean, maybe he should of said "Could it be on an album?" fair enough, but SERIOUSLY? 4 fucking PAGES? Half of them filled with bashing the OP?

I wouldn't want it on an album, EP, single, random drop or on a posthumous album. It's like if someone were to invade the deep dark vaults of your mind, ravage through your secrets and post it on facebook, 9GAG and Reddit. I mean the song shows us how down he was, and no doubt he was lower at the time, but did we really and truly needed to know how far he was?
