EM often samples rappers he's been influenced by as Slick Rick, Big Daddy Kane, Rakim, LL, Nas, etc. In general a lotta rappers do it.
It's kinda simple in this case because Slick Rick is the original and ultimate story teller so any rapper after him who's got storytelling skills gotta be influenced by him.

Yeah that's what I was thinking, but even though in a lot of his songs he users other peoples styles, he has his own style in every song, which makes him really unique.
