New Em album is likely a long ways away :(

Em's new album was basically just announced, and going off previous patterns, isn't coming soon.

Recovery announced March 2009 (as Relapse 2), released June 2010, 15 months later.
Relapse announced September 2008, released May 2009, 10 months later.

HTS was an exception I guess, but I'd say Em's album comes in spring 2013 at the earliest.

Honestly, it will be a early 2013 release. I highly doubt he will release the album this year. Although maybe a single will be coming by December/January. I am going to guess right now and say a April/May 2013 release date!

I think it's a good sign that he cares enough to find the right direction and theme, and something worthy of a next-chapter. As apposed to just chucking together 10-20 songs.

I hope he takes a while to craft it properly, and I hope he produces or co-produces almost everything.

But he scrapped R2 and almost completely started over with a new direction in late 2009.

I think he already knows the direction of this album, he's probably already made a dozen songs for it. My best guess is that he's making more and working with bigger people to try and perfect it.

I've been hoping for & expecting a new album before Dec.21,2012 but with all the pushback for SH & 50, plus Kendrick gearing up for an Oct. release I'm quite positive Em is gonna wait to drop in 2013! That disappoints me....
