This album is so fucking lame. How can anyone say this shit is great? Not a single real standout track.

This shit is soooo fukin commercial / sounds like every other bullshit rap record out there. Nothing special about it at all. The mixtape blows this away, and doesn't have half the production value.

I thought Slaughterhouse/ Shady were trying to bring back real Hip Hop. Wtf is this shit, really?

I'm not even looking forward to Em's next album now, I know what direction he's headed.

Asylum has a modern day SSLP sound. I love that beat probably the most along with Rescue Me. Asylum gives off that dark purple-ish, blue-ish vibe SSLP had. Anyway, Resuce Me makes me think of red, Our House makes me think grey, Coffin' makes me think brown, Throw That is white/light blue/red, Our Way is dark blue... See what I'm getting at here? The production doesn't flow together well at all, it's all over the place. I hope Eminem doesn't repeat this mistake on his next album, and I hope the label is the reason behind the mix and match of different sounds.

They picked some ehhh to great beats (none were classic), but come on....at least have a coexisting sound to make it flow...LIKE THE FUCKING BME EP (except for Lighters). If you aren't trying to make the album's beats flow together to make an overall flow at least have the majority of the beats be orgasmic. That said, I loved these beats in the following order the most : Asylum (that Eminem hook and voice > *), Rescue Me, Our House, Frat House, and then Park it Sideways. Those were the beats that were just great to hear over and over for me.

@Geno, I hear you man. I hope Eminem doesn't re-do Recovery's production mistake. Dude needs to stick to producing the album himself with some Dr. Dre, DJ Priemer, and/or Bass Brothers. That would be the best thing for Eminem, Mr. Porter is alright, but he doesn't make classics.

@Man1x I agree. Also, Em's hook game has ALWAYS been awesome. His hooks here are no exception. That was a mistake on Recovery imo. Like Cinderella Man, Seduction, etc. could've just had his voice. There were no needs for other voices on there.

I hope he continues to do EVERYTHING by himself like TES. There's a reason why that album sounds the best musically.

I really don't understand how you guys thought Em's voice was quiet or drowning under the beat or whatever on his Our House verse. It's very loud, very clear. I didn't do anything to the equalization. It's perfect.

Exactly, an improvement of TES is what he needs to aim at. That doesn't mean making an album that sounds like TES with the same content. It should make an album that shows a positive progression of all of the good qualities of TES. That is were his career has stayed, that's his pinnacle. If I were him I would die trying to top that album, and after that Our House hook I believe he wants to. But then I listen to welcome to: OUR HOUSE, which he was so involved in, and it makes me think he isn't going in the right direction in terms of quality. I hope he was just letting Slaughterhouse do their thing with small imput and not telling them how to do things, if he didn't I'm scared for his next album.

I just hope his involvement is just limited to his verses/hooks/beats/co-production/small imput and encouragement and not choosing most of these beats and guiding the direction of this album.

@Geno, couldn't agree more. And I know the story about Radioactive (I liked that album much more than welcome to: OUR HOUSE, though). I also saw that interview on This is 50. I know we've been told Eminem was just behind the scenes like we were told and I hope that's the truth.

All these other producers usually over-produce. I don't mind the beats on this SH album aside from Our House. That clacking bothers me a little lol. I can hear all the verses fine, but the beat is too loud.
